I have been a member for a while and was successful but I get easily distracted and discouraged and thought going to Weight Watchers and having to pay for their site would be motivational....wrong. I need to get back on track. I feel icky. Would like to lose about 40lbs. Hopefully I can commit this time!! SOOO hard with summer coming up though. I love sitting out and having cocktails with my pals...will be hard to resist.

Hey! I hear you! Weight Watchers worked wonders for me the firs time around - lost 88.6lbs, but after my wedding, some infertility issues and a move out of state (thus taking me away from my ever so trusting leader) and I could never get back to the leel of motiation I felt with Nancy...
Well, with that in mind, I knew I needed to make an even bigger effort on my own, because if i moved away from my leader and my trainer and couldn't get back on the wagon then there was a problem - I neeed to find something that worked for me, solely me, and didn't HAVE to include anyone else, becuase let's face it, I'm never going to leave myself.
Anyways, so glad to have a fellow ex WW here! Welcome back and good luck!! Let me know if I can help in any way!0 -
I understand. On my days off I allow myself an adult beverage or two and it's usually what puts me over. Hang in there!0

I joined for about 3-4 months through where i used to work. What a waste of time and money. No success. No motivation. The support here at MFP seems much more genuine and helpful than anything WW ever had to offer.0

Try to remember that it is not a diet yet a lifestyle change. You can still have cocktails with the pals. Granted not every night but you can have fun while trying to shed the pounds. If you know that you will be consuming extra calories from drinks then make sure you hit the gym extra hard before you have some drinks. You can not deprive yourself of having fun because you will then get distracted and lose focus!0

I think you just need to log in daily, no matter what your food/exercise logs look like and stick to motivating yourself with your friends and these forums! I use my phone for logs, but I log in a few times a week online to check on my friends and look at my stats! My buddies on here are the best, people really care about each other! Its the best, when there are people I've never met who check my status updates nearly daily and help me stay motivated!0

I stopped doing Weight Watchers (points) and started keeping track of everything I put into my mouth -- including my cocktails -- Bud Ultra -- those 55 calories do add up. AND the free foods (vegies) do too -- 5 servings of vegetables per day equals at least 150 or more calories. If you don't count them -- your weight loss stops or slows. Now that I'm counting everything -- the scale is moving. More challenging to keep track of everything, but seeing the scale makes it worthwhile.
Keep up the good work -- :happy:0 -
Thanks guys! I think WW was hard for me because I was so used to counting calories that I just didn't get the whole points system, especially after they converted to points plus. Hopefully this time I can stick with it and be better about logging every day.0
