Highly Motivated Mom

For 7 years of intense happenings in my family, I realized I am an emotional eater. I used to run 20 miles a week, in awesome shape, and then life started happening. I got injured. I started drinking wine to medicate, I ate whatever I wanted not thinking a thing about it. Because I was living in this fog, I had no realistic idea what was happening to me. Now, here I am, I woke up. All it took, was to be at my daughter's track banquet sitting next to my daughter's friend's mom. They served pulled chicken sandwiches. She is an adorable cute small woman. I went up to get food and was served a sandwich. I went back to the table and sat down. Just as I was ready to take a bite of my sandwich, I noticed that she was only eating the chicken, scraping it off her bun. That was my moment. I need to scrape the bun! I took charge right after that. I am looking forward to my clothes fitting again, feeling good again and feeling sexy again.

Hi
I am in a similar boat. Always a runner, always slim until lately. Haven't run lately. Too much wine at night, not boatloads, but enough to slow down my metabolism and make me care less. Family stuff, carbs. etc. I hadn't completely checked out, but I definitely checked out of my body. I feel like now is the time. I can still get in shape, but at some point you hit a wall and you just can't get an old body back into shape. So I am motivated. I
I am going completely wine/alcohol free. I am cutting out grains. I also plan to try the food window, eat only during an eight hour block (I'm thinking 10-6 because evening snacks can be a challenge) and then drink lots of hot tea after 6. And I am going to get back into running. Maybe add a few yoga workouts in. I just joined Grokker, they have some great free online yoga workouts.
I could use a buddy to check in w/ if you are interested, I'm a mom of three and will be 45 this year. I believe that while exercise is important, food is king. Grains literally change whether I'm trim or not. I ran a half marathon a few years ago and could eat what I want, but even when I haven't clocked as much mileage, I've had more muscle tone w/ I do what your friend did, scraped the chicken off the bun and didn't eat the bread/rice etc.

Hi. Sounds great. I would be happy to have you as my buddy. It's amazing how wine can add the weight. I have cut back immensely with a couple glasses every now and then. I forgot what sleep was like until I quit drinking wine on a regular basis. It is on my bucket list to run in a marathon. I have quite a few things on my bucket list that if I were thinner would be more successful. Food window. Hmmm. I never thought that way. I was a lifetime weight watcher years ago and am still thinking that way when it comes to losing weight. I think in points instead of caloric intake. I've heard good things about this program, so I'm looking forward to trying. Hubby and kids munch at night. Have to say though, that hubby sat down with Bing Cherries 2 nights in a row. I'm kind of nervous about losing the weight. All I hear is how hard it is to lose belly fat and from drinking wine and eating whatever, that's where it mostly is. Ugggg. Thank you for messaging me. It will be great to have someone to chat with. Oh, as soon as I feel like I won't keel over, I'm going to start running again too. How old are your kids? My oldest just graduated from high school and youngest will be a sophomore. Talk soon.0

Hi ladies! I realized last year I was an emotional eater. That was quite a shock! Introspection and finding my triggers really helped. Finding support here was a great boost. My daughter will turn 2 in June and I absolutely refuse that she struggles with her weight because of the example I set. So I started running last year and I workout 5-6 days a week now. Food is still tricky at times but I'm getting used to cooking balanced meals for the family!

Hi. I was a JAZZERCISE instructor when my girls were little. Their demand took me away. No, let's say I took me away too much. I loved it. It's not that I didn't have support, I did. A friend and fellow instructor got very ill and passed away, soon after my husband had to have a stent put in and then not long after that my step dad was diagnosed with lung cancer and given 8 months. I guess you could say that did me in. Right now I'm coming out of the fog.btook a long time but I'm back. Thank God. Thank you for listening......0
