Does anyone else feel like a short order cook? I am the only one in my household that needs to be on a diet and I still want to cook dinner for my family. The only problem is that I can't eat the stuff that I cook, therefore I have to cook myself a separate meal. UGGHHHH......it gets so aggrevating! I know what some people are thinking "Everyone should eat healthy". Yes, this true, and sometimes I do cook a healthy meal for the whole family, but there is only so much fish and chicken breast that my family will put up with. Anyhoo.....I'm just venting.....:

Can't you just eat smaller portions of what everyone else is eating and maybe add a side salad?

I feel the same way and my son is really picky so I have to make something different for him most nights too. I sometimes say to them "I'm not a short order cook!"

YES! I am pretty sure I am a short order cook. My husband and oldest daughter are fairly easy to please, they will eat most things, my middle child has a mild dairy allergy and can't have cheese/sour cream/milk etc. and is really picky so things have to be a bit different for her, my youngest has dairy and soy allergies so we have to be extra careful what he eats, and hes picky. There are very few meals that I can cook that everyone can just sit down and eat. Very very few. I just pick which ever verion of the meal that I think looks best and eat a small portion of it.

I have tried the smaller portions and sometimes I do, but I know my mind and if I eat "unhealthy" food too often, I will go back to my old ways so I try to avoid it.
