Calling all Vegans

I am currently doing a 28 day Vegan and Gluten Free program, LOVING it and looking for other Vegans to get food ideas from. I think once the program is finished I will stick with Vegan, but combining Vegan and Gluten Free is HARD. Just when you thing you have found a nice little substitute for something familiar it contains milk solids or egg protein. I guess it will all depend on my bodies reaction when I re-introduce gluten.
Love some support or tips.

There's really no point of going gluten free unless you have celiacs disease or anything else which would affect it.
I'm pretty sure there were a few articles on going gluten free can actually be detrimental? I could be wrong... but it does seem a little pointless.0 -
Gluten free veganism is Very Hard, definitely not for the weak of heart. I am a year round vegan (2yrs 7mos to be exact ) and have been known to give up gluten for Lent (religious & health reasons- win win!) and am contemplating diving in again for the summer.
While living gluten free I prefer to cut it out completely, in lieu of purchasing processed gluten free foods.
That being said, cooking from home is always the best option, know exactly what goes into your food; read packaging labels and fall in love with your produce sections!! Frozen Veg and dried bulk grains/ beans are a must for a stable kitchen (they last longer and can be found fairly cheap too)
Egg and dairy are slowly making their way out of my cooking methods but if you aren't ready to cut it out completely (heaven knows I'm not) some great substitutions out there too!

Daiya for Cheese
Coconut milk products (SoDelicious: ice cream, yogurt, milk!)
Silk (yogurt and milk)
Vegannaise (I favor the Grape seed oil)

No matter how long its been veganism, is challenging everyday. I struggle against southern food culture and the ease of premade processed foods. But, it's totally worth it in the long run.
If you are planning on dinning out Hispanic and Asian restaurants are the most accessible and have the most options- corn tortillas anyone!
Coupons.com has some good coupons now, make sure you check the ingredients just in case!

There's a fabulous group on Facebook called "What Vegan Children Eat." They're some of the most creative compassionate cooks I've ever come across & I've learned so much from them. Many are GF as well.

Why are you going gluten free? The only reason to be gluten free is to combat celiac. Whole grains are a great part of a healthy diet.0
