Heart Attack Survivors adopting Healthy Lifestyle Traits

Hello everyone. Almost exactly one year ago I suffered a massive heart attack that landed me in a coma for over a week, in the hospital for nearly a month, and a good old fashion triple bypass to remind me of the event.

Since then I have adopted a healthier lifestyle and have lived to tell about it. Are you also a cardiac event survivor? I would love to share and swap information on what to expect during rehabilitation and after.

I eat so well now that my lifelong allergies and migraines have completely disappeared. It helps that I am a trained chef, but I have gotten recipes from all over the world that satisfying and more importantly packed with nutrition. I participate in crossfit and a variety of other physical activity ventures all year long. I also monitor my health on a daily basis with the latest digital tools and gear, although I have learned how to do it with paper and pen as well.

I'd like to hear from others and create a virtual support system for those in need.

Glad you are doing so much better. I started my journey so that my 40's wouldn't be plagued with health issues. Feel free to add me.

I survived a STEMI in February 2014. One stent and a year of clean, even cleaner living than before, and I intend to live forever or die trying.

I joined the club when I was just 39 - triple by pass. Have always worked out and tried to eat well - the hereditary thing caught me. No damage to the heart as I caught it in time before failure but was darn close.

I'm now on the mission to live life to the fullest while being healthy and eating clean.
