Check your measurements, and if they have stayed basically the same or gone down then you know it's muscle. I know how frustrating that is, though.

Definitely check your measurements! Also- try upping the lean protein, lower the sodium, and eat more complex carbs! I have found that if I eat like this MOST of the time, when I have a little slip up it doesn't make a huge difference and its fairly easy to get back on track. Good luck :)

We'll you definetly have to change something. I was eating all my calories that I earned from working out. I was not loosing then I stopped eating those calories and now I'm loosing.

Maybe you are the opposite. Are you eating your workout calories. There also something called zig zagging. You gotta keep your body guessing both in diet and workouts...

Good luck but dont give up

Working out more and eating less CAN lead to a weight loss stall or even a gain. I've gone through this exact thing myself. I worked out more, ate less and couldn't lose a pound (and sometimes will even gain them). Are you eating back your exercise calories? If not, give that a shot for a week or so to see if it makes a difference. If I don't eat them back - I stop losing (or I'll gain). Make sure you drink enough water and try to keep the sodium to a minimum.

Yes it is muscle- the same thing happened to me. I gained 10 pounds of muscle too. I felt like giving up. Please don't give up. It is all going to be worth it. How much did you lose in may? Do you feel smaller? This time i have really cut back to 1200 - 1300 to assure i dont get the weight gain. Sometimes the muscle comes on top of the fat. I am going by experience. God knows i have been doing it a long time. They call me the diet queen.

Rants are totally acceptable! A couple of times a week (2-3), take down the exercise from intense cardio to the fat burning zone (55-70% of your maximum heart rate). You can figure out your maximum heart rate with the following equation: 220-your age. Figure out what 55% and 70% of that number is and keep your heart beating within that range. You'll burn fewer calories, which means you'll have fewer that you'll need to eat back. The great news is that the calories you do burn are almost exclusively from fat! So, brisk walks, low-intensity swimming, yoga, and easy bicycling are your keys to improved weight loss. You're still getting a great workout, but it's a different way to work your heart. Since you can't up your caloric intake, modify the other extreme by decreasing your exercise. I hope this works for you. Please keep me posted. I'm interested!

Take a serious look at your food diary and see where to make changes- the processed foods, white bread, chips, etc. You need to be eating fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and whole grains. Some days you aren't eating enough calories and they need to be healthy calories to fuel your workouts.
