Strength training and Herniated/Bulging disks

So last year, MRI’s showed that there are herniated disks and a bulging disk in my neck. Now it stemmed from an accident 10 years ago. So, I have been to the chiropractor and the phsycial therapist. They never really said what exercises to avoid. I mean shoulder exercises would be the ones to watch out for but they were never specific on which ones.

Anyone have any tips or experience the same thing?

I literally just came back from seeing a neurosurgeon about the exact same problem, but I have herniated discs in Lumbar as well as neck, both historical I believe. I posted a similar question a few minutes ago!

He said to avoid any exercises which put pressure through the spine (i.e. downwards pressure from top to bottom), which would include squats, deadlifts etc.

hope someone can give a list of exercises because squats would make sense but deadlifts? hmmm

i wonder if shoulder presses would too

If you reckon you're safe with deadlifts then you'd better make sure your form is spot on, because if it isn't it is one of the riskiest in terms of causing back issues.

back isnt my problem. Its my neck. But i have no pain or anything. It just exists there in the background. I also dont want to go into it with no pain and do stuff that aggravates it. Im trying to be extra careful.
