    Thanks, FC!

It's interesting to note which one has all the brand name products and which one doesn't. Personally, I'd go with the bodybuilding.com one for health. In fact, that's pretty much the way I eat.

your welcome! ahh yes, to do it all over again I too may have left out the brand name list as I think the bodybuilding list is pretty complete on it's own... I think healthy food choices is what's most important not so much what brand. Guess we KNOW what brands sponser 'hungrygirl' website now hm? :blushing: Oh well...my best intentions...:blushing:  :drinker:

I'm glad you took a moment to post your thoughts...you got me thinking.. I really want to visit a bodybuilding website and just haven't done it yet...guess I feel like I have to be 'skinny' to do it...

ridiculous?...oh absolutely what I'd say to anyone else:laugh:  ..but ya know how we can be with ourselves.. :blushing:

Great post thanks FC and Stephica.

Even the name brand list can help someone just beginning on this journey. In the beginning I had NO idea what to eat. I would have grabbed any bar...instead of looking at the Fiber One.

I certainly have a few branded products that I'm devoted to!!! But I make sure they have the fewest ingredients and as little processing as possible. The key, of course, is to always take advertising with a grain of salt and read the ingredients in *everything.* Chemicals, no thanks -- real food, yes, please!

TC, definitely try a body building diet. How do you think those people get so lean, without losing muscle? Most diets cause you to lose muscle as well as fat -- which creates a never-ending battle with the metabolism! It gets harder to lose weight with every new "diet" you try. I don't like most body building websites because they push diet supplements (more branded products), but good places to learn what body builders eat are cleaneatingmag.com and the nutrition section at oxygenmag.com.

So glad you DID!! Lots of folks are already benefiting from it....:flowerforyou:

I have to agree with Jeannie....I glanced through the list last night briefly again... I think on things such a cereal, breads etc. etc.... when starting out if a person doesn't know where to begin....this list, yes even the brand names can be a help because it shows what type of food to go with... in time folks find their own brands but hey this is a super list to start out with as we find what works for us!

THANK YOU stephica:drinker:  I hope you didn't mind me creating a thread for it's little old self....I think it merits that...plus then it can be found easily when searched for or bumped:bigsmile:

  • Can someone tell me what the nutrition content is for a banana?

Can someone tell me what the nutrition content is for a banana?
You can find out great info on the MFP food lists...just click in banana and it will bring up several options that other members have added when they started. Just see what size you're planning on eating and take a look there.... it gives all the nutrition info as well!:drinker:

Otherwise you can always Google ...banana nutrition contest or something to that effect...off the top of my head...I don't have to the content...:blushing: sorry:wink:
