Well, I finally got me a new digital scale last night. the one I have been using was old and didnt weigh very accurately. Now I know exactly how unaccurate it was. I know i have lost 22 lbs but unfortunately I mustve weighed more than I thought when I first started. My old scale weighed me as 190 starting out and last week I was 168 according to the same scale. This morning I get on my new digital scale and I weigh in at 177!! I'm so disappointed. To think I was in the 60's and to have it just snatched away from me like that!

I really get it.. it changed your mental image of your accomplishment but it shouldn't.. You lost 22 lbs! Don't lose sight of that!!!

Don't be so hard on yourself! Every scale is different and even though you old scale was old, you still did lose those pounds. You should be proud of that. Don't focus on the numbers. I can WI on day and be 5lbs up from the day before, then the next day be right back where I was. Weight's funny like that. I try to always WI on Wednesday first thing in the am before I eat. I try to keep as many variables in check as I can.

There is no need to be depressed what so ever. You have lost 22lbs!!! That is really good. 22lbs shows that you are dedicated to this weight loss journey. You will be back in the 60's and moving onto the 50's before you know it. Just stay focus and don't let this deter you from your weight loss.

    Smile

As everyone else has said - you still lost the weight!! :) That's awesome.

Also, make sure the new scale is accurate (I put a 15lb kettle bell on mine from time to time). I did'nt realize the batteries were going on mine the other week and the kettle bell saved me from a minor meltdown :)

The previous two posts have said it al, numbers are numbers, the important thing is that you weigh 22lbs less than you did when you started. Thats an achievement in my books and a good one, chin up, regroup, and most importantly, keep smiling x Add me if you like

Don't worry about it. The scale is sometimes the enemy! How do you feel? How do you look? Are your friends and family complimenting you on the work you've done? Thats all the power you need! SCREW the scale!

This happened to me as well.... I thought I was in the 140's but then got the new scale and realized it was like 6 or 7 lbs off so I'm still in the 50's :( It's okay though... you have still lost and thats AMAZING! Congrats :)

Try finding another scale you can weigh on to compare. Your new scales could be off, especially, if they are digital. Even if they are correct, don't beat yourself up about it, losing 22lbs is amazing and you have done a great job. Yes it is discouraging to know you have a little further to get to you desired weight. How do you look and feel, minus scale shock? Isn't that what matters most?
