I have to say i am amazed. In the last month I have made a huge change in my life. I moved back to a city where I am surrounded by friends and family. My social life has gone thru the roof. Before this change I was pretty lonely, unhappy with the way I looked and struggling to lose the same 5 pounds over and over again . Note that I was working out 4 times a week, watching what I ate, but my social life consisted mostly of going out for drinks.

in just a month I have gone down by 1.5 kilos, but it is the physical change that is most surprising. Gone is a swollen tummy which I had until now. Gone is puffiness in my face. And.... i am eating about half of the things I was eating a month ago... i am just not as hungry not am i craving sugar anymore. My life is a whirl wind of seeing friends, playing with kids, and daytimes activities that do not involve alcohol. i am happy in loving and healthy surroundings!

my thought is: happiness deeply affects how your weight loss goals go.
Im halfway to my goal now!!! :)

I completely agree. The opposite is true too, though. Stress at work or home can easily undermine your best attempts at losing weight and/or becoming healthier. Thanks for the reminder of positive reinforcement! :)

I have had a very rough couple months, emotionally and have fallen back on old behaviors. I eat things I shouldn't, more than I should and drink several times a week. I see firsthand the results. I have a large amount of weight to lose and lost 50 lbs the first 3 months. The last two I have stayed within the same 2 lbs, i'm bloated, irritable and fatigued.

Emotional health can make or break physical health!

Thank you for this post. I needed to get that kick!

It is amazing how fast your body takes to healthy eating. I know if I were to eat a burger, fires and shake right now I would feel like crap. Before I would just feel full and happy.

i think sometimes one just has to stop and evaluate what is triggering the bad habits.
please note that I have not cut out foods that are technically bad for me. on friday I had steak tartar and saturday a hamburger... but I ate only some of it... and not seven burgers followed by pie.....
the rest of the week my diet is pretty healthy and clean... i just always had huge problems with portion control.
