This may be a no brainer but just wanted to know what others thought... I need to use sugar free fudgesicles but when I look up the nutrition info notice that a certain brand has 8 carbs. Are they meaning that it is sugar free because there is no added sugar or under a certain number of sugars or that the involved carbs aren't sugar carbs (if that's possible)? I'm doing a "snack" with natural peanut butter and sugar free fudgesicles.

Does it have milk in? And seriously, 8g of carbs won't kill you.....

It's my understanding that sugar-free means no added sugar. However, any carb turns into sugar. The more complex the carb the slower it turns. The dietician told me not to "drink" my carbs as in eating a popcicle. She suggested ice cream instead because it at least had some nutrition in the milk. You can eat more sugar-free ice cream than you can the regular sugared kind. But, you can have the regular sugar in a small portion. 8 carbs are not a huge deal though. If you crave it. Have it! Just account for it on your meal plan.

Thank you! My doctor says I need to limit my carbs (she's big into that although I don't think I will be doing the 45 g she wants me to go down to any time soon!) Anyway, so I am keeping an extra eye on my carbs and have been quite shocked at the carb content in a lot of foods! Guess I will have to limit my substitute peanut butter cup to an occasional treat (not that I was going to eat dozens at a time)Thanx again
