i need to speak irish well but not fluent because i need it to join the police is there any chance thanks guys

    If you go hard out at it, you could pick it up quite well. It depends how much you study, how often you attend classes, how much you get to practice. If you're thrown in the deep end a bit and have to use it, you can pick up a language quite quickly. If you're just doing a aural course (and not being taugh by a fluent speaker) and not getting a chance to practice with others, it will be a lot slower.

    Ah ok, then my answer stands. I have a friend who was fluent in French after about 9 months from living there and having a French boyfriend. So immersion helps.
