3 day Military diet?

Has anyone tried this? I need all the information possible!

I don't know anything about that diet, but I suggest avoiding anything that promises results in 3 days. Even if it miraculously DID give results, there's no way the results would be lasting, meaning you'd gain everything right back. In addition to that, crash diets don't teach you healthy, sustainable habits.
So unless you want to keep going on and off diets and gaining and losing the same amount of weight over and over again, (which is absolutely horrible for your health and is linked to easier weight gain in the future) it's better to just stick to a moderate deficit in calories, and learn how to eat healthier in general.0 -
It's a silly fad diet that is in no way associated with the military or how people in the military eat.

This is a crash diet. Any weight you lose on it you will regain when you go back to a normal eating pattern. Why not just set your calories to lose 1 pound a week and stick with that?0 -

Very low calorie diet...less than what MFP will recommend for you. For 3 days, I don't know how much progress you expect. Very low calorie diets over long periods of time are dangerous - your body needs fuel (heart, lungs, kidneys, etc) in the form of calories to function. Not everything your body needs will come from fat stores (unfortunately).
Why not eat the calories MFP recommends? The lowest MFP goes (before exercise) is 1200. At 1200 calories you should be able to get proper nutrition at least. Make food choices that you enjoy (log them) and not choices prescribed to you.0 -

This is ironic to see this as a post as i have started the military diet today. Do i really expect to lose 10lb hell no. What I expect from this is to teach me a little more discipline. I have a problem with snacking and this diet does not allow for snacking. I also have a problem with mentally know something will last for 30 days or 90 days. Mentally I can commit to 3 days. B'Cuz its only three days. So realistically my point in this is not to lose weight fast, but to get my mind in a position where I know I can stop snacking and commit to my diet fully for shorter periods of time. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work! It is not the most unhealthy thing I have done in hopes of losing weight.

Here's all the information you need: this is a fad crash diet that will not help your long-term weight loss goals. Also, no one in the military uses this diet.0 -
Again!? Seriously, where is this sudden interest in the Military Diet coming from?
It is a restrictive, fad diet and while the website makes it look like a more moderate 1400, 1200, 1100 calorie consumption, if you actually logged the food and the quantities prescribed into MFP the totals are much lower. For example, one day calls for 3 oz of lean meat at 300 cals. 3 oz of chicken, pork, turkey, even beef is going to be far less than that.
Besides that, it doesn't teach anyone healthy habits such as choosing calorie dense foods in appropriate portions in order to maintain a reasonable calorie deficit to lose weight and keep it off.0 -

Why don't you just log everything, snacks included, and stay within your calorie limit? not a diet, but a lifestyle change...then you can have your snacks and lose weight too!0 -
I did this a few weeks ago as I was struggling to drop below the stone mark. I am 5"5 and 140lb and I lost 4lb. It did stay off though. I think it's ok to get into a dress at the weekend. I'd do it again. It definitely helped kick start my diet again x0

3 days won't teach discipline. Learning new habits takes longer than that. SkinnyGirl is right, eating foods (your choosing) and logging them in MFP teaches you about YOUR eating habits.
Newsflash.....I still snack. For me it's about reducing the mindless snacking. I can have a cookie....but I log it. I know the "price" of the cookie.0 -

It helped me to jump start healthy eating, I did it a few times and eventually was able to incorporate other foods little by little. I love "great" food and was living to eat not eating to live.0
