I let myself have it if I want it and it fits in my calorie goal for the day. But I don't buy bars. I stick to I ndividually wrapped small servings. And savor. Concentrate on that one piece and enjoy it. Then move on to something else.

I don't know. I started eating chocolate more often when I was losing weight than when I was fat.

Hershey kisses. One every few days. With lunch. That way you still have dinner calories left.

I never buy more than a serving at a time, if I can help it. Whatever chocolate comes through my front door will be gone in 24 hours, so I don't buy family sized bags or full size boxes of cookies at the grocery store. I don't even get the bags of individually wrapped treats, because I'll still eat all of them.

If I really want chocolate, I'll go out and buy a single serving. If I don't want it bad enough to go out and get it, then I clearly don't really want it that badly.

One exception is any dark chocolate that is 85% cocoa or higher. One small square is usually enough.

My wife was always saying she's addicted to chocolate. She'd say things like, "Hide the chocolate when I'm around. I can't control myself around chocolate." It got to be a problem. Finally I got sick of it. I took her out for a drive in a bad neighborhood and found a junkie. I said, "Look at that right there. Why can't you be that skinny?" I think she learned something that day. I dunno. YMMV.

I pre-log the amount I think is reasonable, and then eat it.
