Chocolate Guinness Milkshake and all...

Yes I did, I went away for the weekend with girlfriends and I had a Stout Milkshake at Baileys Chocolate Bar. We laughed, drank and ate all weekend! I tracked my food and we tried to move a bit more. I was terrified of the scale when I got home, but I put on my big girl panties (and they are big), and stepped onto the dreaded scale at my gym! I could not believe it, 2 more pounds gone!!!! I know it is mostly water weight but still! So happy. I got this, I can do it, I will do it! It took photo's of myself to shock me enough to realize how unhealthy I am/was. I still have a ways to go, but I am doing everything in my power to make a change. As soon as my head and heart were in agreement, it hasn't been as difficult as I thought it would be. I know I will have some battles ahead of me but no worries, I am ready. One blasted pound at a time, it is in my power to change things. I want to be healthy for me, I want to shop for vintage clothes and fit into them, I want to be in photo's with my family, I want my kids to learn from me and be proud of me, I want my husband to have a trophy wife, I want to do the Warrior Dash. I want it all.

When I went to the gym this morning I saw an overweight man working out. His belly was sticking out of his shirt (not just a little, his whole belly). He made my day! No, I was not laughing at him, I was encouraged and proud of him. He had courage, he came to Gold's to change, It made me think that he must have similar goals as me, and just like this site, if others have determination and courage then I can also have courage and determination. I really hope I see him again. I hope he knows about this site.

This is not much of a Success Story but more of a "hey friends, I finally get it!" and this "getting it will make it that much better. It's a balance of living life, enjoying life and being healthy. I can have Beer Milkshakes, and girlfriend weekends every once in awhile and still keep track, I don't have to hit the restart button every time, it is possible to live and lose. One slip will not make me give up, I will not squirt a tear, my belly can hang out (for now) because I have courage. So Thank You random man who got off the couch and helped me on my journey. I love it when things click.
