Hi I'm getting married this summer - August 23rd 2015. I am 5 ft 3 and currently weigh 86.6kg (the heaviest I have been in my life!) Ideally I would like to weigh 70kg by my wedding - giving me I think just over 10 weeks if I start now.

Is this possible? How should I go about it?

People have been advising me to try diets such as the Cambridge diet, or the clean 9 diet. Not sure I anyone has done these or would recommend them?

Starting to panic - can't believe I have left it til this late.

Ps working out wise - due to work and other commitments the most I think I can make it to the gym is max 3 times a week spending roughly an hour there.

Any tips or advice would really be appreciated!

Average of 1.6kilos loss per week at your current weight is probably not doable..possibly a kilo a week, if you are super committed but generally an average 500gm per week at your current weight is pretty good.

What do you intend to do at the gym? Is it possible to fit in some walking other times?

You are going to need to be pretty committed to achieve at least 1kilo a week. I assume you have been allocated 1200cals before adding back in exercise calories.

Drink plenty of water, eat your allocated calories, review carefully any exercise calories before you eat them back.

It sounds like you need to move the wedding date further into the future, go back in time to start losing weight earlier, or eat at a reasonable deficit and let whatever happens happen. The last option seems the most feasible.

No, it is not doable. Aim for about half a kilo per week, and if you manage a bit more consider it a bonus. Do not set ridiculous goals or try super low calorie diets, the last thing you need is looking and feeling ill by your wedding date.

It is a very difficult goal and the only way you can find out is by doing it. You MUST be fully committed to losing weight and be stict with eating and exercising. You may not be able to make it to 70kg but you may only be a few kilo's off your target if you start from now! If you do please add me as I would like to see your progress! Good luck and start now!

190 lbs to 154 lbs...that's 46 lbs...you should've started sooner bc losing 46 lbs in 10 weeks is *highly* inadvisable.its way too fast, your body will be going into starvation mode, its nuerologicalky taxing, and you'll gain it all back maybe even more.2 lbs a month is a safe weight loss plan, so you would weigh 170 lbs.if your hubby likes you at your current weight why try to lose it so fast.hell like you at 170 lbs, too.not that I'm saying you should do this..but,the only way to lose that much weight that fast is to go on a 1 month juice fast, that's around 30 lbs.then another two week juice fast.

Get a dress that fits your current weight and maintain. Preparing for a wedding is enough stress, no sense in adding to it.

Ok thank you all for your advice - I realise I was being unrealistic then with what I was hoping to lose! I work in a hospital so I am on my feet all day at work. I guess it's the stress of the job and shift patterns that have added to me developing really bad eating habits. Bingeing on the wrong foods at the end of a shift late at night.
