Hi everyone!!

I am 35yo, 5'3" tall and weight in at 263lbs presently. So I am 20 weeks pregnant which means I cant really diet. SO I decided to enroll anyways and start planning my meals and tracking what I eat so AT LEAST I can have that under my belt when I give birth and am ready to lose weight.

I have always been chubby, even as a child. It got worst as a teenager. Right now I am at the heaviest I have been. Well I have gone up to 290lbs pregnant with my 2nd child. This time around (3rd baby) I have only gained 4lbs so far.

I am ready to lose the pounds and also regain my life with myself, my husband and kids. I am tired of being tired, of finding everything physical as a HUGE challenge and being unable to run after my two girls in the yard. Tired of being looked at as if I was an ogre, tired of always dreading the scale and tired of pretending \i love myself just as I am. Obvisouly I am happy about me on the inside, but not on the outside.

Hopefully I will become a regular here and use this place and its tools to my advantage to lose the weight.

Thanks
Caroline

when I was pregnant and already overweight, my doctor told me that I couldn't gain any weight during my prenancy. It was hard, but I only gained 11 lbs from day one until 36 weeks later. I did water aerobics at my local YMCA. I recommend this highly!! It is low impact and safe. Also you could do prenatal yoga. Any type of activity now can help you to shed some weight without diet. Just incorporate some light workouts everyday. :) Good luck!!

Just FYI, the whole actually having to "eat for two" idea is a myth. Doctors will tell you that a normal weight woman should not gain any more than 25 lbs during pregnancy. Overweight women usually should not go above 15 lbs. The current guidelines suggest that pregnant women should only need to increase their calorie intake by 200-300 calories daily. So, definitely speak with your doctor, but it may be a good idea to just set your goals to "maintain" on MFP until you deliver.

    Also, congratulations!
