I am thinking of trying an Insanity class at my gym, but I'm unsure whether it's suitable for someone who is about 28lbs over weight. I currently workout 3-4 times a week, but am looking to up my cardio. Just wondered whether anyone has tried this class, and their verdict.

Try it...
I have done the DVD programme, loved it!0 -
I do it twice a week, I am 20pounds heavier than I would like to be but everyone goes at their own pace, it's great, burns about 300 calories in 25 minutes, the longer ones even more.0

I think it's a great program if you are already in pretty good cardio shape. If your not it's impossible.
I tried it at 250 pounds and thought I was going to die.
I do think I will give it another try when I'm in the 160-150 pound range. It's not for those people who are out of shape.

Actually, you can do push ups on your knees, when you do the lateral moving push-up plank combo, just do the plank (move right hand and foot, then move left hand and foot). Don't jump up or down, just one step up and the opposite step down (Left down, right up). Ski jumps in the plank position you can step one foot, then the other or, just jump an inch or two. Modify, Modify, Modify. Forget about those 'running' mountain climbers. Just step one foot forward at a time. If you need core work (we all do), then this program will get it done. Stop when you need to catch your breath and jump back in when you're ready. I've never been able to keep up, but I just do what I can and try to improve! Remember, the person leading Insanity in the club has been a Beachbody Coach, and Team member for a long time. They can tell you how to modify. You can do it, but you may not keep up with the leader...those guys are nuts about this stuff! I earned my T-shirt while I was sinking further into arthritis and the need for a hip replacement. Insanity helped with the core work that kept me stable. --GO!

Even Shaun T, the program's creator, says to just do as much as you can for as long as you can. Everybody comes in with different fitness levels so don't compare yourself to them. If you get tired, take a little break and then jump back in.0
