What is a good appetite suppressant to get, to help curve your appetite?

Don't waste your money. There is no evidence to prove than any of those things actually suppress appetite. Work at eating at a caloric deficit and find foods that are satisfying. Losing weight is not about starving yourself or even depriving yourself. Just eat within your caloric allotment and be consistent. Don't give up too soon, it happens differently for each person. Find some support for motivation.0

The only one that works is the RX one, which is Phentermine. It was about 30 bux for a month supply (insurance wouldn't pay because I was 5 lb short of being fat enough lol. duh.) The side effects are quite unpleasant so I'd recommend discussing in depth with ur doctor and taking for the minimum amt of time to get ur new habits established. I took it for one month and I was DONE lol. But it did the job. It made me able to form new habits without losing my mind. I did not have rebound when I got off of it. For the last week I cut my pills in half to titrate down off of it smoothly.0

The best appetite suppressant is eating sufficient amounts of a variety of foods while maintaining a reasonable calorie deficit. That way you lose weight steadily without feeling starved or shoving chemicals into your body that provide no real benefit and may do harm.

Yes, I find food suppresses my appetite as well.
The only thing needed is desire and willpower.

I have a legally prescribed stimulant that has the side effect of appetite suppression. I don't take it very often -- the myth that everyone becomes addicted to stimulants is just that, a myth -- but it does help.
But I find that if I'm doing Intermittent Fasting (there's lots of information on this site) or a Protein Sparing Modified Fast, I rarely get hunger pangs. Sure, I could always eat, but I'm not so ravenous that I break my regime.
Food actually sometimes makes me more hungry, which is why IF works for me. I can easily wait until late morning to eat, but if I eat an early breakfast, I get hungry for lunch, and so on and end up consuming more calories over the day. Many people respond this way.

I hate it when someone asks a question and then everyone piles on and doesn't answer it but tells the OP what to do...but, this time I have to agree that the best way to curb your appetite is with food within your target calorie range. If you choose foods that are filling, that will help you resist snacking. I eat every few hours because I don't like being hungry and that can make it difficult to resist eating too much. So, I have mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks. I plan out what I'll eat for the day and I stick to the plan. Good luck!0

Good for you for giving a candid, thorough response.

I have a legally prescribed stimulant that has the side effect of appetite suppression. I don't take it very often -- the myth that everyone becomes addicted to stimulants is just that, a myth -- but it does help. Having a little bit of extra energy is just as important for me when on a reduced calorie plan.
But I find that if I'm doing Intermittent Fasting (there's lots of information on this site) or a Protein Sparing Modified Fast, I rarely get hunger pangs. Sure, I could always eat, but I'm not so ravenous that I break my regime.

I take a Dexatrim max once in a while if I know I'm going to be around temptation. No unpleasant side effects, and just enough appetite suppressant to keep me on track. I wouldn't recommend them (or anything not prescribed by your doctor) every day, but a couple times a month I find they really help. It's much easier not to snack or overeat if you're not hungry. Just my humble opinion and what works for me.0

I find that the more fibre and protein I get, the less hungry I feel at a given calorie level. I also find a lot of veggies with a little fat goes a lot further than veggies alone, which fill me up at first, but leave me hungry again in an hour or so.
Some people find it helps to eat a salad (no dressing or light dressing) or broth based vegetable soup (not cream of anything) before lunch and dinner, as it fills them up to some degree and allows them to eat less of their entree (which is generally much more caloric than the salad or soup).
If you are drinking anything with calories (with the possible exception of milk), you will be hungrier than if you save all your calories for solid food. A good combination of high volume food with enough protein and fat will help you feel much more satisfied than a lot of calorie dense foods like juices and (some) processed foods.
It really is possible to fill up on a relatively small number of calories if you go for primarily high volume low calorie foods like veggies, fruit and beans. Just make sure you are still getting enough protein, and don't cut fat too low; it is calorie dense, but if you combine it with your high-volume meals it will keep you fuller longer.0 -

I've tried all kinds to suppress my appetite mostly none of them work, drink tons of water. I did the low gi diet some time ago and found that really helped to curb my hunger not only that I lost tons of weight.
