hi can anyone give me a brief explanation of calculating macros? I want to start this tomorrow but I'm a bit hesitant as weighing EVERYTHING can be very time consuming

Counting macros doesn't have too be too hard. You can scan anything with a barcode on here. One good tip to keep it simple is don't count green vegitables. They're fiberous and it gets crazy trying to weigh and count them. Realistically if eating vegitables gets you off track you're doing something wrong. Anyways, an average chicken breast weighs about 6oz and at just over 5g protein per oz ends up at about 30g. A cup of rice has about 40g carbs varying a little by type of rice. A scale is the way to go though. Pre packing helps too, weigh it all out when you have time so you can just grab and go.0

If you have a scale then you're all good. After a little while you'll get used to how much of what is how many calories and you can kind of just estimate. Unless you want to be really exact. Are you tracking just to see or do you have a goal in mind?0
