Shedding for the Wedding

Just got engaged this weekend...and I'm horrified at the thought of walking down the ailse in a size 16-18 dress.
I have about 5 stone to lose in about 12-15 months...
Anyone else got a wedding coming up and is this weight loss a realistic goal?
