Lost a lot and gained some feeling worse.

Having been big all of my life, I would guess I would feel used to it now.
I started my weight loss journey at 355 pounds at the ripe old age of 20. By 22, I was down to 215, had a new life in a big city and the confidence to restart my life the way I wanted it to be. I dropped from a size 26 to a size 12-14 and I can't remember the last time I was happier.
Last year, after a series of weird accidents, I had to have massive reconstructive surgery on my shoulder, arm and collar bone. Because of the months of inactivity, I ballooned back up to 275.
All my friends tell me that this is still a success story. Hey, I still lost 80 pounds! But to me, that number is panic-inducingly close to that dreaded 3 number.
I hate my body even more than I did at my heaviest. I want to have to motivation to do what I did last time, but all I can feel is that my body betrayed me after I worked so hard to fix it.
How do you maintain motivation after falling so hard? Any words of wisdom or encouragement is welcome.

Just start now. Don't worry about anything now except to start with removing junk calories and move your body! Don't make this about pounds lost, make it about feeling good again! Only you can do the hard work with this! Kick it!!!!!0

First thing, don't beat yourself up for your gain. It's not constructive and all it does is make you feel worse about your situation. Your body went through a MASSIVE trauma and it needed time to heal. I understand how hard it can be to find that motivation again, but start by making small changes. Go for a walk on your lunch. Log EVERYTHING, no matter good or bad. Drink lots of water. Before you know it the small changes will lead to big changes and you'll be on your way to losing what you have gained. You can send me a friend request if you like, I would love to follow your progress0

Just stop. Look forward and not back. You did this before. You WILL do it again. Can't wait to see a pic of you at 215 again. I hope I will be there soon too.0
