***Decided to change the subject of this post while I still could. SO, if some comments below don't make sense, don't worry about it!***

Like the title says, what are some of your favorite quick meals that are also healthy. I'm a bit of a lazy cook, especially with lunch and breakfast. The faster the better for me, but without sacrificing taste!

I guess it depends on what and how much you are accustomed to eating. 1200 calories is obviously not that much.

Oh I'm sorry, I should have specified: my calorie goals are set to 1400 (which is 150 calories below maintenance for me. I'm really short). It would only end up at 1200 total if I work off 200 calories tonight.

So, I am not really new to MFP, but I am just getting back to trying to lose weight (I say this every time I start up, but this time it will become a lifestyle! I swear it!) And in all my starting and stopping and researching, etc. I have learned many things that will help me stick to it this time around I think. When you try so many different ways to do something, you're bound to find one that works for you eventually, right?

ANYWAY, off track. This time around I feel like I'm realizing something. On days when I manage to eat healthy foods (which isn't consistent yet, but getting better), I feel like I spend my ENTIRE DAY eating. Just trying to meet my calorie goals with things that are actually good for you is so hard! Today I felt like every time I have gone to grab a snack I'm not actually very hungry. I'm just trying to get my calories up so that when I work out tonight my calories minus exercise won't be less than 1200 (My calorie goal is 1400 cal, which is 150 below my maintenance calories. I tried to make it a reasonable goal. Usually, though, when I workout I don't eat back my calories. So, I always try to make sure that Calories In minus Calories Out evens out to no less than 1200).

Am I crazy that it feels like SO MUCH FOOD? Or am I not as hungry because I just started back to exercise and my body doesn't realize it needs more energy?

*I sound so silly, please don't judge*

My guess is that you probably have a very narrow perception of what is "healthy" and good for you. Pretty much anyone I know who has this issue avoids dietary fat because they think it's "bad"...dietary fat is highly essential...eat more...eat some avocado...eat some nuts...cook your veggies in some good olive oil, have full fat dressings on your salad, etc.

There's more to "healthy" than just a *kitten* ton of veggies and some fruit...that's good for you, but there's a lot more to proper nutrition than that.

You can also look at a weekly calorie goal, if you're over one day and under another day, they can balance out. Just make sure you eat enough each day to sustain your energy levels (aka, don't eat 500 calories a day to try and make up for a huge binge).

You're not crazy, I have the same problem. Actually, I too am a returnee, just to mfp, not to healthy eating. I ate healthy even when I didn't have the app but I think it holds me more accountable so here I am again. Anyways, you can take a look at my diary for today (it's my 1st day back so it's the only day you gonna find, sorry)) but I haven't stopped eating since I wake up 14 hours ago! All these food and I barely made it to 1400 cals!
