I'm just wondering what's some of the songs/artists on your playlists to keep you moving and exercising. I'm in need of some new material on my current playlists. Maybe we could get some different ideas from people's lists? (just a thought!)

Some of the artists I have are: (* means A LOT of their songs)

*Alice in Chains
Avenged Sevenfold
Candlebox
Chickenfoot
*Disturbed
*doubleDrive
*Dream Theater (my ultimate favorite!)
Dropkick Murphys
Evans Blue
Faith No More
Five Finger Death Punch
Godsmack (yeah, I know that EVERYONE's probably got some Godsmack to keep them going!)
Guns N Roses
Halestorm
Hootie and the Blowfish (yup.... I love them, too!
Joe Satriani
Killswitch Engage
LA Guns
Lacuna Coil
Lady Gaga (can't help it... guilty pleasure)
Live
Living Colour
Metallica
*Michael Jackson
Ministry
Muse
Pearl Jam
*Perspective XIV (if you like Rush, these guys are awesome :) Personally I'm biased since they're my friends)
*Sevendust (I'm a big fan.... and the constant upbeats are GREAT for workouts)
*Sixx AM
*Split Nixon (a band from West Virginia that I LOVE to see)
Stabbing Westward
*Stereomud
Steve Vai
*The Limit
Tool

I hope we can keep the list going! I'm always on the lookout for new music to listen to!

Two that immediately come to mind that are not on your list.....

James Brown (different style, I know....but mostly upbeat w/o being breakneck fast)
The Offspring (good mix of up tempo songs....some faster than others)

Today it was the B-52s, "Dance This Mess Around."
  • I always keep some White Stripes handy for running tunes. But today I jammed out to Far East Movement's Like a G6! The beat kept me moving. ^_^

I listen to TONS of disco to work out. I've been listening to a ton of Stars on 45 lately - long songs, same beat throughout...

For those last couple of minutes where I dont think I'm going to last much longer, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS put on "Jesus Built my Hotrod" by Ministry. It always makes me smile, and keeps me going.

It's one of those songs where there's a story behind it, and it cracks me up. (The story is: my husband and I go to heli flun flys in the area - hubby is an rc pilot, and I'm starting out--, and this WONDERFUL person, Tony, from Kentucky, did a night fly to Ministry, and it made me laugh so hard that water shot out of my nose -hurt like hell!- and I've never forgotten this song.)

    New Found Glory
    Incubus
    Hoobastank

And on occasion I'll listen to SUCCESS! magazine audio CD, they've got some great stuff on there!
