Do you guys know about this stuff? It's a spice in the ginger family, and it looks like little round seeds. You grind it like pepper, and it tastes kind of like pepper...only much richer, a great deal more depth, like pepper on steroids. I officially think this is my new favorite thing!

Do you guys have some herb/spice/sauce discovery that makes everything you eat better?

Yes, it is a common brewers spice. If anyone wants to try it, you can find it at a store for homebrewers. You likely will not find it at your local market and some mail order (The Spice House carries it but Patti's brother's business, Penzey's Spices, does not)

I have seen it at some specialty store with large spice sections, but I purchased mine from Amazon in a grinder.

I love this adobo seasoning that I get from Penzeys. It's basically a lot of cumin, oregano, garlic and salt I think, so when I'm out I just add those ingredients... But I like the blend.

It is one of the most popular ones they sell (I used to work for them in the corporate offices. I supervised 16 of the retail stores)

Did you get a discount? And you left this job why? I love Penzeys but it is a dangerous place for me...

Yes, not to mention all of the freebies. Any new item went to all employees just before being released to the public so we could use it for ourselves and be able to describe it. Also, if a bag was not sealed properly or a label came through all messed up and wasn't discovered in production, it was put into an employee freebie box.
