Hi my name is Natalie and I have two babies. My 1st will be 2 on the 15th and my 2nd turned 1 on the 3rd May. I'm currently the heaviest I've ever been and hate what I see in the mirror :'( I'm a size 16/18 and have a wedding to attend on the 28th July and would really like to lose at least a dress size by then! Would love to make some friends and gain some more motivation to get myself going!

Use the app, it helps. Be honest with it and it will allow you to see what changes you should make. I started with prepackaged meals. They were high in sodium but I could eat 6 times a day and stay within my calorie goal. When I added in the exercise the weight came off faster.

Hi Natalie! I've two babies also - my eldest girl will be 3 in December and my youngest girl will be 2 in November! So I'm a year on from where you are and I can feel your pain - but things do get a bit easier!!!

I joined MFP at the end of January and lost 13 pounds............and I'm sorry to say that I'm sitting here today with 10 of those 13 back on. My husband ended up needing emergency bowel surgery and was in intensive care for a couple of weeks so I completely fell off the wagon and ate everything I knew I shouldn't be eating in huge quantities!

Oh how easy it goes on! So today I'm getting back onto that wagon.......I turn 40 in 8 weeks time and I have made a vow to myself that I will be in the best shape I possibly can on the day of my 40th birthday. I've joined a gym and have paid for unlimited classes for 8 weeks so I'm bootcamping, spinning, weight-lifting, circuit-training at least one hour per day 5 days per week! I have my exercise in check - I'm just finding it difficult to stop eating.

Hopefully we can motivate each other. So far today - I'm almost angelic!!!! But it's early.
Best of luck to you on your journey. How much do you want to lose? From todays weight I would like to loose 17 - 20 pounds.

Best of luck. There is fantastic help on this site.

Hi Natalie! I'm another mom here, mine are 4 and 1. I started out in the same size as you.

Log everything, invest in a food scale, and make sure you take your before photos (they may seem depressing now, but you'll thank yourself later). As long as you're consistent with your logging, you'll lose the weight. Best of luck to you on your journey!!!

Thank you, I'd love to lose at least 14-20lbs by the 28th July. This is my first day using MFP and am hoping that so far I'm on track to staying within my target calorie limit. My biggest demons are chocolate and Pepsi max I eat and drink far too much of the stuff and definitely don't exercise enough either but finding the motivation to get off of my bum and move is very challenging :(

14-20 lbs in just over one month is unrealistic and unhealthy - aim for 1-2 lbs per week.

Losing 6-12 pounds is more realistic and reasonable in that time period.
If you want to make a lasting change, I would advise not starting out too intense or restrictive. You need to realize that it will take time to lose weight in a healthy way and be patient. If you have more than 50 lbs to lose you can probably lose 2 lbs a week. If you have less than 50 lbs to lose you probably will find setting your goal for 1 lb a week more comfortable and sustainable.
Eat food you like and fit it in your calorie goal. Eat or drink smaller portions of higher calorie stuff.

Agree with Lounmoun think heathy first and am for 2 lbs a week. This site is full of what they call skinny fat for the most it's people that lost a lot of weight quick with little or no excersise.
