Regained weight but smaller measurements

Hey I was just curious if anybody knew of any information about smaller measurements, but regained weight.
Over two years I lost about 44lbs going from 189lbs to 147ish and now I am sadly back at 181. So I'm redoing everything and going back to weighing food/macros.
I was just curious cause my measurements are much smaller at a very similar weight when I started.

Could just be the weight snuck on at new places you haven't measured (or measured in different spots in the same areas), and some of it is just water weight?0

Sounds like you're in better shape this time around. More muscle than fat.0

That's a win. You've gained back the weight, but the smaller measurements indicate that your body fat % is lower this time. That means you have more muscle mass, and likely a higher metabolism to work with. Develop an appropriate exercise regime and stick to a healthy diet at an appropriate calorie deficit and you should make some great progress.0
