Am I eating too little?

since I have been counting calories. I stick to my recommended allotment for the day but I end up going to bed starving, feeling weak and dizzy and even started sweating and felt like I was going to pass out and I haven't felt up to exercise. Should I just stop counting or is there a way to count and still eat whenever I want

Can you open up your diary? What is the goal MFP gave you? Do you eat back your exercise calories?0

What is your current height/weight and how did you set your weight loss goal? As in 2 pounds per week, 1 pound per week? I'm guessing you set it to 2 wanting to lose fast, and that gave you a low calorie limit. If you're dizzy, weak and feel like you're starving: something needs to change. Rather than give up completely, readjust your goal. Try 1 pound per week - you'll have more calories to eat that way. And you'll make more progress than if you just give up completely.0

There's definitely a way to count and eat whatever you want. Whether that's compatible with losing weight is an entirely different question.0

How many calories are you eating each day? How are you determining your calorie count?0 -
It tells me to eat 1540 a day and I set it to 1 pound a week. I'm 5' 4" and currently 119 I would like to get to 109 but even 114 would be great. I have an anxiety disorder so maybe that could increase my heart rate and make me feel dizzy too. For breakfast I always have fruit and a piece of toast with egg spinach and hummus lunch is usually my biggest cal intake with lots of veggies and lean protein and I have fruit or a protein bar as a snack in between I use to eat a lot at dinner but now I have to have a very low cal dinner cause I will go over for the day if I don't and I don't eat back my exercise. I usually Google calorie content for what I eat or check labels but most of the time I have to guess and. I might be guessing wrong. I also like my carbs too much probably.0

I think I'm gonna try to eat normally for a couple days and see how I feel0

I am 5'4 as well. 109 would put you on the cusp of being underweight. My goal is 115 (since I've been that before and don't look emaciated). That is a good number to shoot for. You should also incorporate some lifting/weights into your routine as well.

I was 112 last year and still looked and felt healthy but I had two jobs at the time and I'm a lot less active now I ate 2000 cals today and felt a lot better. I think I might just have to bump up my exercise.0

How about lowering the aggressiveness of your goal to half a pound a week?0

Eating whenever you want got you here ... to where you need to lose weight, right?
You're not gonna be able to eat whenever you want.0 -
Well starving myself into the hospital isn't gonna get me where I want either and if you saw I'm not actually over weight so I think I will be ok. I said whenever not whatever. I think clearly I need to start slow and not ignore my body when it tells me I'm hungry and keep my nutrition in check. Seems so obvious now0

You can use the food diary to check the calories of the daily food you eat. Then the daily calorie goal is put on the page and if u do any exercise, you earn additional calories which you can either eat or leave for additional weight lost. I am 5'4", I have 42 lbs to lose, currently 183 lbs. I have set mine to lose 1 lb a week and I am allocated 1510 calls a day. Don't feel starving as I have a light breakfast, not much lunch but good dinner with pudding and then a slice of toast for supper too. Only moderate exercise too0

You're right. You're at the lower end of weight for your height, and you want to go even lower.
Quickly even.
That doesn't seem like a very good idea.0 -
You are actually on the low range of a healthy BMI for your height at 119. I believe 109 would make you underweight and may be dangerous...I am 5'4 as well and my goal is 120. I agree with your last comment that its important to listen to your body. Clearly you feel weak and hungry, I think you know the answer to your own question.0
