Running group - advice?

I've been toying with the idea of joining the Serpentine's running group in London for months now, and now I've got a marathon under my belt I feel a bit better running with other people.

I've always been a bit of a lone wolf, but was nice running with people on the day of the race.

Does anyone have any experience of running clubs, any advice? Or even better, does anyone actually run with Serpentine's at the moment (long shot I know!)?

Thanks x

I am going to a free class next week for a womans running group so I can let you know afterwards.

I take a running 'class' with a local running store, where they group you with people who run at a similar pace and distance, with a coach. We run twice a week as a group, and then there's a schedule of runs you do on your own. I love it - it is really a lot easier to stick with it when you're with other people, and the regular meet times help with discipline - plus, I find I push myself harder than I ever would on my own, and thus make quicker progress. Plus, you get to meet other people who are into running and can share their tips and stories. I tend to be a lone wolf too, so I was surprised by how much I enjoy this.
