I'll throw one out. I heard a song while mowing the lawn yesterday and then today on the way to work.

Robert Bell + David Cassidy + The Association = [song title]

    Hint:
Bell's group did a song of the same name, but it was a different song. Cassidy recorded the same song as The Association.

Way to go Billy. Was that a hard one? I didn't want to be too obvious with Robert "Kool" Bell or just say Kool and the Gang.

I think that spanned the 60's, 70's, and 80's with those three acts.

It was the Cassidy - Association connection that triggered it for me.

That's what I came up with too. Good one. I thought it was "happy as clams" not "happy as turtles".

    ♫♫♪ Happy 72nd birthday, coming up on June 17 ♪♫♪ (bonus clue ;) )

Black, blue, straw or rasp + Manuel's nickname + not high / the spring, summer, fall & winter hit, when this artist was 22 yrs old = artist / song

edit: Ooops! not 21 yrs old... should say 22 yrs old. So sorry!

I have the artist and he's one of my favorites. Still struggling to find a song.

It should be 1965. Ummm 65 Love Affair?

I have Barry Manilow as the artist.

Maybe a song by The Four Seasons is the song. How about Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You? Manilow did that on The Greatest Songs of the Sixties.

Decker, you are so close! :D You've got the 1965, Barry Manilow and yes, it is a Four Seasons song, but not "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" (1967).

    Clue # 2 = looking for 1965 song, released in 1981
