Hey everyone, I'm Michele!
I was dianosed with PCOS back when I was 13 and I am now 28. I will be changing meds over to Metformin as well as Spironolactone to help with symptoms and weight loss. I have come on here because the PCOS support networks are few and poorly made.
I am hoping that I will be able to find similer women on here or even if you dont have PCOS, to make friends. If your in the UK all the more!

Hello,
Glad you are here and I hope this site helps with your weight loss goals!! Good luck!!0 -
Thanks, I can recommend 2 doctors for you to check up on (though may be a tad far for you to visit). One is Dr Prelevic who is based at Whittington Hospital in London and is one of the leading experts on PCOS. If you can get a ref to see her I am sure she will figure out what is going on. Another is Prof.Chew who is based at Bart's Hospital at the Endocryne clinic. He specialises in metabolic and insuline based issues which are similer to PCOS. These are all in London but look them up if you can0

Hi Michelle,
Feel free to add me. I don't have PCOS, but have some of the unwanted symptoms of the disease like amenorrhea for several years now and excess body hair. I have a BMI of around 37 and one of the more personal reasons for wanting to lose weight is to decrease or eliminate the symptoms as I know people with the disease are adviced to do this.
Good luck to you.0 -
Hey Michelle!
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was about 15. I've never had any actual cysts, but I have had everything else - severe acne (treated with Accutane) and hair growth (I am currently doing laser hair removal). I have been on every birth control known to man, and I am currently taking Metformin and Safryl (a birthcontrol with a form of Spironolactone in it). The weight didn't become a problem until about 2 years ago when I was 19. I got married, gained weight, and now it is proving pretty hard to lose the pounds. I will definitely add you, and provide support when possible! You can do it!0 -
