Hi my name is vicky iv been using my fitness pal for 40 days iv managed to drop one jean size, and a total of 3inch of my waist 3inch of my hips an 2 inch of my thighs but my scales tell me iv gained weight by 4lb please help me to understand whats going wrong?

Might just be muscle..
I've dropped 2 pant sizes but the scale has barely moved. Don't stress about it especially if you know your losing0 -
I agree! You may have lost fat and gained muscle, and since muscle weighs more than fat, that explains why such a large gain! You go girl! Congrats on the inches!0

Never said I was an expert just going by what the doctors have told me. I work out as well so is that pointless..lol0

One can minimize the amount of lean mass they lose by incorporating strength training and hitting the right macronutrient goals. One cannot build new muscle mass at a deficit ... it is pretty basic science.0

Well i am doing both cardio and strength work outs as well as hitting my macronutrient goals daily , its great to hear im not the only one with this problem though its softened the blow abit lol and thanks for the congrats x0

As your eating and activity habits change, your body is adapting as well. Sometimes the weight does increase a bit, but that is just temporary. As your system adapts to more exercising and better food choices this will improve. Don't make the mistake of weighing or measuring too frequently. Changes aren't big enough for a WOW. Tend to be frustrating and even abanoning new ways.0
