For weight loss, all you need, is to eat less than you burn. Doesn't matter what you eat. Fortunately, if you eat less fast foods, you get more bang for your buck. Proteins and fresh veggies are a great place to start. You will find a recipe section here that will give you some great ideas on meals.0

I agree with @Liftng4Lis Eat what you like
i know i do, i love fast food i love raw food, i love clean food, and processed food.
lets just say i love food in general And i eat what i need/want/grave. Only rule is it has to fit in my daily calorie allowance. ( or a bit over some days)
This way i lost 94 pounds and doing great.0 -

Cutting out junk food is a great start, don't eat diet food as it usually has added refined sugar to replace the fat.
Weigh and log everything you eat
Try and exercise as much as you can0 -

I been working on cut the junk food and fast food as it not good for my heart. As for exercise I get plaintery off walking in I log it with runkeeper and get 30k a week if you converted that it 60 miles a week. Yet in the last year I put on 30 pounds, after my cancer surgery so I was underweight. I like to get back to my wight before the cancer off 120. Hopefully keep an eye on my intake will help.TheOwlhouseDesigns wrote: »I agree with @Liftng4Lis Eat what you like

That ported off my problem with fast food because my calorie intake is 1200 a day acertion to mfp all my calorie intake would be gone. With verry little nurtion I need to keep a good nurtion so my boby will be healthy.

Junk food isn't bad if you eat it in moderation and make sure to fit it into your calories for the day. I would have never lost the weight I did if I had to give up all the foods I love. That's no life to me.0

You said fast/junk food is bad for your heart… Do you have a heart condition?0

So you think when i make a 600 calorie pizza ( which i eat half btw) with fresh tomatoes out of my garden...fresh herbs and spices cheese , chicken, anjovis, fresh grown peppers that that isnt nutritious????
But besides that it is about making the right choices...when i want to eat junk food as you call it or fast food it is balancing it out with your other foods that day. And about portion control so you wont eat too much, and dont go hungry.
You can eat everything! And i have my medical issues...well had them..major ones! ( Not willing to even go there because the list is to long)
But at this moment, feeding my body the right way, providing it the nutrition's it needs and hitting my macros, my stats are excellent!!! And no medication at all.
My BP which was sky high and life threatening is like a young dog again.
There is no bad or good food..... there is only too much food for overweight people. Or with underweight people not enough food.
Its all about portion control, moderation and finding a balance.

But this was my suggestion
You asked for suggestions
You do what you feel comfortable with and what you have to do.
Only dont think that there is bad and good foods
That is the wrong idea to start off with
Good luck on your journey, i am sure you will do well0 -

I was agree with you suggestion, and letting you know I go a lot off walking.
The pizza you desired is fool off good nutrition. The fast food i was talking about is deep Frie and unhealthy acertion to my doctor.
Thank you once again for you inport.

I didn't understand your walking - 30 km a week ? I would lose the chocolate milk, sugary soda and the like.
Some days are low protein, try to get at least 20 grams per meal * 3.0 -
Your food diary is full of carbs/sugar but barely any protein and fat. I also don't see many vegetables in your diet. Overall, you need to increase your protein and fat intake.
Some options:
Chicken breast
Ground beef
Ground turkey breast
Turkey bacon
Turkey breast
Lentils
Beans
Cheese
Nuts/seeds
Salmon
Shrimp
Tuna

If you sign up for the myfitnesspal blog you will be emailed recipe ideas a few times per week. You can also click to log them into your food diary.
Also, seeing how you have a heart condition, can your doctor refer you to a registered dietitian?

Ah, 30 km/week which is ~20 miles.
Chocolate milk is pop without the gas. You logged it with 24g of sugar in a cup = 10% sugar which is same as normal coca cola.

lol yeps and in every post he can find
OP like i said you can eat whatever you want within your calorie allowance.
And along the way ( like i did) you add some healthier stuff... leave some healthy stuff out because they are disgusting to eat...add some junk food or like me today 2 bottles of champagne yummieee
and cut out some other junk food because you dont miss them
its give and take. its about balance
If you want to drink soda..go ahead why not?
my reason to not splurge on my beloved drPepper is that i like to eat my calories. But be sure i drink it ones in a while.
Some people just go overboard with their health idea's ( sorry to say so)
Life is to be liven, a balanced diet has it all you eat everything....except what your body or doctor tells you to stay away from
And this from a person who cant have salt and yes i had to cut out added sugar (medical reasons) ..which means i eat all the fruit i want and add sometimes ...sometimes sugar to a recipe or i eat a bar of chocolate.
Or a doughnut, or like yesterday a pistachio ice cream with peaches and blueberries....... But the key to a healthier life style and body is moderation, portion control and knowing and learning how your body reacts to certain foods. Which means i can eat anjovis and smoked salmon ( very salty foods) But not at the same day!
This doesn't mean i cant eat them..... Just not the same day. yes i can eat a whole chocolate bar or any other sugary sweet but not all together the same day.
Just common sense!

Do you have a slow cooker? If so, that can be a great easy way to make yummy food with little need to monitor it while it cooks.
