If it was a surgery that may require physical therapy, then wait for your doctor to tell you to schedule that. If you push yourself after surgery, you risk delaying your recovery time. Let your body rest and have the necessary time to repair itself. Call your doctor's office and get an opinion on when it's safe to start some light exercising. And ask what type of exercising to do.

There is a ton you can do - BUT as the above poster said, please tell us that your doctor gave you the all-clear for exercise and told you about any restrictions or cautions you need to take???? If not, make that your first step, then come back with that info and you'll get better advice.

You could ask your Doc about DDP Yoga.

I've been doing some yoga lately honestly the stretching it gives you has been working well in my favor .

there is also strength based yoga. you can look into bodyweight exercises. not knowing what sort of surgery you had or the contraindications that may come with it. it's very hard to say

    walking is good

Gentle or restorative yoga is great! I also found that doing a series of stretches can also be helpful- especially since I'm a pro at having surgeries and then trying to get back into exercise slowly. Walking outside has been good as well as walking in the pool in the lap lanes. Hope this helps!! I'm going to start following you- always interested how people get back to healthy living after surgery.

I highly suggest restorative yoga. Many people find relief.
Also, studios might offer packages so that you can try other classes too. the studio I work at offers zumba, tai chi, aerial, hatha, restorative, yin, vinyasna, bikram yogas. and you can buy packages so you can try any of these. it's a fun way to find out what you like or don't like

I love Fitnessblender.com workouts on YouTube and they have tons of low impact workouts. Depending on what you're restrictions are of course. That's what the video link above is.
