Approaching diet/counting burn out

Does anyone else get tired of counting, measuring, and weighing every morsel they eat? Playing guessing games at parties with portions and how much you ended up eating or drinking? I know you have to keep trudging along but I'm not the only one to get a little weary after awhile right?

YES. But last time I quit doing it I gained back the weight I had lost. :-(

I don't party much any more, but if I did I would just exercise that day and then try not to overdo eating and especially drinking and call it a draw, rather than actually trying to guess the calorie counts of everything. And then have tight accountability during the week.

I "let go" so to speak at family gatherings, parties, and nights out with friends. They aren't regular occurances, so I don't like to ruin the vibe by worrying about whether that potato salad will fit into my daily goal, or what will happen if I decide to have two glasses of wine. Other than that, I've been calorie counting for over a year now, and it does get tedious at times. I'm doing maintenance as a daily goal right now for a couple weeks, and it's been relaxing to have some extra calories when I want to use them. Sometimes you just need a break to get re-motivated!

I find thats why its a good thing to have like pre-packaged meals handy.

Some days i just cant be bothered weighing out every single ingredient I use. If i eat a pre-packaged meal though the calorie content and stuff is already all accounted for....even if its something junky like a microwave pizza you know exactly what you're getting without having to work it all out for yourself.

Another thing I find helps me is when i buy meat and stuff from the supermarket, before i store it in the fridge or freezer i cut it up into pieces or whatever and weigh it all there and then. I then put the it in a freezer bag with the weight/calorie content written on it so when i come to use the ingredients later in the week I've already done the hard work and don't need to do it again.

No you're not the only one to experience this.

You may find this thread useful should you decide to go another route.

I'm currently taking a break from logging. I was getting frustrated due to my(admittedly) sloppy logging over the past few weeks and the self induced stall it was causing. I decided to leg go of it for a bit and see how I did just following my hunger cues. Wouldn't ya know, the scale started moving down again. It's nice to take a bit of a break, I am in no hurry to get to goal and if my weight stalls or starts to creep up I will get back on the logging train.

Yes but small price to pay not to gain the weight back.

I did try it without logging and gained all that and more back! soooo I realize i will ALWAYS have to log and yes it can be a bit aggravating BUT the app is way more easy than the olden days when we looked it up in a book and wrote it in a journal. Yeah, now that sucked. Maybe plan ahead and log things you already know you are going to eat when it's not going to take up time from other things. Like if your breakfast is the same all week, pre-log and then if you need to change it later no big deal. I have logged since Jan 3, first with lose it then switching to MFP, down 53 so seeing it work makes it all that more easy.

    Yes!!!!!

Only this morning I was ready to chuck it all in after having a poor weekend. But then I realised that I've lost over 3 stone (42lb) and that I've run at least 5k for the last 5 days in a row.

It's an emotional roller coaster but it's worth it...don't give up.

    Yes occasionally, mainly hormonally

But I'm not giving myself that excuse
