P4- NutriMost Diet

I'm in the 1st part of phase 4 on the NutriMost diet. I've lost 20 lbs and I need to maintain within 2 lbs for 21 days. This is tougher then the program itself. I'm trying to work in 1631 calories a day! That's a lot! Especially going from 40 days of 500-550 calories. I'm pretty confident this will reset my metabolism but worried that we're going on a short vacation this coming weekend. It'll be tough but it is what it is. I'll have to eat smart. Wish me luck!!!

It's doable! U can do it!0

I'm doing it! Sorry just saw your post. Still new to the community with not much time to venture out and read people's post. Thanks for the encouragement.0

I just started Phase 4 yesterday and lost 26 pounds during Phase 2. I am a little nervous but am trusting in the process.0

It's a little scary at first but try not to worry too much. I think that hurts you more than anything. Trust in what you learned you've done great so far, you'll be fine. I'm more worried about going below the 2 lbs! Weird isn't it? I don't want to mess up my set weight by going too low. I'm not sure how to recover from that. If I go over the 2 lbs I know that the steak day will get me back on track. You'll be fine. Good luck!0

So wait - this diet starts you out on 40 days of 500-550 calories? WTH?
Also, there is no such thing as "resetting" your metabolism - that is clever marketing on NutriMost's part, and it seems to be working.
I just perused their website, and it seems that they are selling a bunch of extremely overpriced supplements, shakes, and nutrition plans. Sorry to hear that you've already paid money and tortured yourself on a VLCD for 40 days, but for other newbies reading this thread, I'd advise to stay away from this company. It has scam written all over it.0 -

Agree totally!0 -
I too was skeptical but I have witnessed several people go through the program with great results. My son lost 50 lbs and my daughter-in-law lost 22 lbs. I lost 21 lbs and I'm very happy I did the program. Yes it was expensive but well worth it. I can not explain how it works but it did work for me. I'm sure it works differently for everyone. As for the low calories...I was never hungry once! I can't explain it.0

Low calorie diets are never a healthy or sustainable diet. How long ago since your relatives lost their weight? How long have they maintained it?
Yes, you will lose weight on a diet like this. However, it is extremely likely that the weight will be gained back along with extra pounds on top of what was lost during the diet. The companies that market these diet plans to you are only in it for money - they hook you on their diet plans, charge you for all of their crap, and they bank on the fact that you will gain it back in hopes that you'll come running back to them when it's all over.
What is your long-term plan for maintaining your weight loss after you stop this diet, OP? How many calories will you be eating? Do you know what your TDEE is?0 -
I believe you can lose weight on any "diet". What is more important is whether you want to stay on this "diet" forever.0

I won't be debating this long but I'll answer what I can.
My son and daughter in law did the program in January and they are maintaining within 2 - 5 lbs.
My daily calorie intake is to be 1630 per day and no more than 10% lower. I want to maintain. I have a back problem but I use either the treadmill or recumbent bike 5 days a week.
I eat healthy fats, fish, lean beef, chicken, vegetables and fruits. I haven't eaten boxed foods in over 10 years. My downfalls are sweets and they have to be limited. I limit starches completely. They are not my friend.
May I ask why you are criticizing people who are trying to help themselves? I assume you are on a fitness plan or you wouldn't be on this site. We are here to encourage people not discourage anyone.0 -

Just because I am disagreeing with you does not mean that I am "discouraging" you at all. I'm trying to explain that the diet that you are on right now is not sustainable. Tell me in a year where your son and your daughter-in-law are. Just because they've maintained their weight for a few months does not mean that they will be able to maintain long term.
My fitness plan along with many other people on this website involves eating at a moderate deficit while meeting our macro and micronutrient needs. We are learning portion control and how to enjoy the foods that we love in moderation - in other words, we are learning habits that will help us maintain our weight loss long term. The best part about this plan is that it is free (unless you're forking over for MFP premium). In fact, since it involves eating less food, it may actually save us money in the long run.
If you are planning to finish the diet (which I assume you are, since you paid for it), you are going to need to learn about nutrition, calories, and portion control, because without that knowledge, you will surely gain any weight you've lost on this diet back fairly quickly. Good luck.
I'm new here and not familiar with out to post here so I may be in the wrong area.
I'm not new to the diet world. I'm 58 and I've been obese all my life. I've been on every diet imaginable. My husband and I topped out our scales in 2005 after our 20 year old son was killed in an automobile accident. We made the decision to go on LAWL and he lost 87 lbs and I lost 47. We both have gained 25 lbs back. I'm now 58 and unable to get it off. I gained approximately 5 lbs each year. Age is not your friend. By your picture you appear to be younger than I am. Congratulations on your healthy lifestyle. I too have a healthy lifestyle. But when your scales won't move you look for answers.
That's when NutriMost came into my life. A local chiropractor who I have known for over 3o years has devoted his life to this program now. I went to him knowing that he wouldn't knowingly jeopardize his position in our small community. I took the step. I had the same questions as you have but I took the chance and I feel great.
My highest weight not including pregnancy was 192 and I'm currently 135. Anyone can fall off the wagon. It's called willpower no matter what diet you choose. Whatever lifestyle you choose. I can't control my son's eating habits, never was able to but it's his choice. If this site is still here in a year I'll certainly let you know how we're all doing. In 6 months, IF my wt stays down my Internist plans to review all my meds to make adjustments where necessary. That is my goal. And yes, I plan to maintain as I am doing the payment plan! I wanted to be accountable.
Good luck to you too! Thanks for listening...I had a bad Monday.Alyssa_Is_LosingIt wrote: »cmrjones781 wrote: »I won't be debating this long but I'll answer what I can.
