Hi! I'm new!
And I must say breakfast is a MUST for me.
I love everything about pancakes and eggs and toast.. but that of course is not very healthy.
so I was wondering if you could tell me your favorite low calorie breakfast!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE eggs- cooked anyway. Poached is really good... and so are omelets! I usually add spinach, mushrooms and turkey bacon/sausage to my omelletes to add some flavor... and toast isn't bad if you get the right bread! Healthy Life has a 35 calorie white or wheat bread that I use with some sugar-free jam.
I also love OatFit oatmeal... its super filling and some flavors are as low as 100 calories!0 -
Honey Kix are Great and serving size is alot compared to most cereals and only 110 calories!0

weetabix with a spoon of sugar and chocolate powder or jelly0

I make a 3 egg white scramble with 1/4 cup of black beans, scalions, mushrooms, tomatoes, and a tablespoon of Taco Sauce.
It is very filling and has about 200 calories0 -
Breakfast pizza made on a low calorie pita, scrambled egg whites, and reduced fat mexican cheese, and any veggies you want!
Normal breakfast is usually cereal with a banana and unsweetened almond milk.0 -
Well, I would make sure your eating plently of protein for breakfast because it will fill you up with less calories and keep you full longer. I would concentrate more on what is in the calories than how many there are. For example, most cereals, pancakes and the like are full of sugar and empty carbs so you will be hungry and fast....
I like egg beaters with veggies and a sprinkle of cheese, or veggie bacon on an english muffin, vitamuffins are also a decent option. I always have a protein shake with fruit mixed in, as well (I always work out in the morning, though).0 -
I really like the jimmy dean delight breakfast sandwiches, the canadian bacon ones are my favorite and they are made with egg whites. You would think a microwaved breakfast sandwich would be kinda bad, but I find them delicious! I eat them often for breakfast. Also, I would suggest scrambled egg whites instead of the whole egg, much less cals. whole wheat pancakes are better than normal ones. Thats what I suggest! hope this may help0

I love using fruit with any breakfast food as it is tasty, healthy and packed with nutrients your body needs. My favorite healthy breakfast food is oatmeal. The best part of eating oatmeal is you can add variety by changing up the types of nuts and fruits you add to it, so it doesn't get boring as fast as eating the exact same thing every morning!0

I often will have
1 c. sliced fresh strawberries (or 1/2 cup and 1/2 cup of black berries) (53 calories; slightly more if you do the half and half berries)
1 Ole Xtreme wellness high fiber tortilla (71 calories)
1/4 c. egg beaters-I like the garden vegetable one (30 calories)
2 egg whites only-mixed with the beaters (34 calories)
I scramble the egg whites and beaters together, put in the tortilla, and have alongside the berries. Less than 200 calories, but quite satisfying and full of protein.0 -
Scrambles egg whites, fresh spinach & fat-free cheddar wrapped in a 100 calorie tortilla :bigsmile:0

Eggs all the way! My favorite is two whites and one full egg scrambled with a little ham and some cheese on top... delicious! Or hardboiled for on the go!0
-
Four egg whites, half cup original oatmeal, bananna....put it all in a large glass and mix well.....add 1.5 cups of water and mix well again. In two minutes you have a breakfast shake to go. Thats my favorite breakfast.0

Kirkland Signature (Costco) Real Egg Product.
It's similar to Egg Beaters -- basically egg whites -- but with some natural yellow color added. Comes in a carton, like beaten eggs. Makes great omelets with spinach, a little cheese, salsa, mushrooms, low sodium turkey bacon, whatever. It's cheaper in the Costco box of 8 cartons, than at the Walmart or other grocery store. Check out the nutrition:

oatmeal
or
this morning I enjoyed scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and cantaloupe
It really depends on how you prepare the food and the amount you eat. Moderation is the key.0 -
I have also been perfecting my egg white omelet sandwich. On the weekend, we make a spinach, egg white, goat cheese, mushroom and onion omelet. I make extra mushrooms, onions and spinach. After breakfast on Sunday, I prepare small bagel sized omelets with the cooked, mushrooms, onions and spinach, drop about .75 ounces of goat cheese on it and wrap it in foil, throw it in the fridge.
On the buzy weekday morning, I toast a Bagel Thin (about 100 calories), heat the omelet in the microwave and I'm out the door with my breakfast sandwich for about 250 calories. If I'm feeling crazy, maybe a slice or two of Ham or Turkey. Been very filling and I am now a HUGE fan of goat cheese.0 -
I LOVE Egg McMuffin-Style sandwiches for breakfast. Made at home, it saves some fat calories and I use egg whites. But HAVE to have the Canadian bacon and cheese!
If I have already worked out before breakfast (which means I have less time to get ready for work, or cook, etc.) then I make a nice cold smoothie with a protein powder, frozen fruit and some 1% milk. That gives me a good mix of everything I need to help my body recover after a good workout.0 -
This website gave me some great ideas on how to make different types of oatmeal (yum!)

I also have egg whites, bagel thins, laughing cow cheese, turkey sausage, etc...just whatever sounds yummy for that day.0 -
instant oatmeal packets are very low calorie! delicious and filling as well.0
-
Smoothie - for sure! I like a hot breakfast sometimes also, 1 egg with veggies! For my smoothies I use Slim Fast Vanilla shake mix, 1 cup frozen fruit, and water. Delish!0

You may not want to eat it everyday or anything, but you could occasionally have what you want without too much damage. Below is an example of two pancakes with syrup and an egg white omelet with sausage in it. For a total of 347 calories.....Just gotta watch your portions.
Van's - All Natural Buttermilk Pancake, 2 pancakes (88g) 170 cals
Log Cabin - 100% Pure Maple Syrup, 0.0625 cup 55 cals
Onions - Raw, 0.5 cup, chopped 34 cals
Organic Valley - Egg Whites, 0.33 cup 33 cals
Raw Green Bell Peppers - Green Bell Peppers, 10 Strips 5 cals
Applegate Farms - Breakfast Sausage 1 links 50 cals0 -
I eat a huge breakfast so you can probably pick one or two of these items and be good with it.
Typical Day is whole grain waffle (I make them from scratch) topped with sugar free syrup with 1 whole egg and 2 egg whites scrambled and a serving of fruit.
Some days I'll make a whole grain english muffin topped with 1 egg white, reduced fat cheese and 2 strips of bacon and some fruit.
Alternative bagel with cream cheese, serving of fruit, 1 whole egg and 2 egg whites scrambled.
I try to aim for around 400-600 calories at breakfast.0 -
here are my usual breakfasts:
* 2/3 cups oats,1 cup fresh fruit, 2 tsp cinnamon, 1 cup 2% milk
* 2 eggs, 1/2 cup fresh spinach, 1 tsp cheese all in 1/2 whole wheat pita (sometimes I add a teaspoon of honey dijon mustard)
* 2 slices turkey bacon, 2 eggs, 1 cup broccoli, 1 whole tomato (done in a scramble)
* 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1/2 cup ice, 1 cup oj, 1 cup fresh fruit, 1/3 cup greek yogurt0 -
I love breakfast, and have to have a filling one. My breakfasts are usually 300-400 calories. That helps keep me full longer.
But I can give you at least one idea if you want a lower cal breafast. A deep chocolate vitatop muffin and a glass of milk will be under 200 calories depending on what kind of milk, and how big a glass.
I usually have 1 Tb of peanutbutter on my vitatop, half a banana and 6 oz of 2% milk. I think that is around 350 calories. But you can fix it how you like. You could skip the milk and have tea. Though I am trying to get 3 servings of dairy in everyday to help with my weight loss.
Sometimes I will have 1 egg, 1 slice of toast(sometimes with 1 Tb butter) and a glass of milk. The egg is 70 calories, the toast is 100 or less, the butter is 100 and milk is under 100. Leave out the butter or the milk and it is only 270. Throw in berries or your favorite fruit will help you to be fuller and doesn't add very many calories at all.0 -

I agree here. Plus, I've always heard to make breakfast your biggest meal (in retrospect) but not eating enough for breakfast can set you up for failure the rest of the day. I like the above recipe. I like natural peanut butter/banana on toast or a Van's waffle, a bowl of fruit. A poached egg on top of sauteed veggies with a sprinkle of cheese and some toast.0 -
waffles! eggos fiber plus waffles. 2 for 160 calories . pour 1/4 cup of maple sugar free (delicious) log cabin syrup over it and you are done. i agree with the egg white omelettes and of course sugar free oatmeal packets that are 100 calories0
