relationship weight, lack of motivation and laziness- get me back on the gym wagon!

Hi all!
I've been in a relationship for 2 years and it is the common theme to get a take away at the weekend and eat junk food! When we first met we were gum junkies and now we are food junkies.
Since meeting him I've put on just over a stone and I'd like to shift from 140 lbs to 125 GW 120 lbs.
I need some friends to inspire motivate and share the journey with???

i gained all my weight while i was in a relationship. i guess we just get comfy and become lazy. i have lost 50lb since becoming single. you can add me if you like and best of look on your journey0

I would talk to him and tell him that you are not happy with the current routine. If you can get him back on track it will make your dieting go a lot easier.0

@Bshmerlie you are most likely right, it would make it a lot easier.
Needless to say, I've tried that many times. And I get sacked into our junk food habits time and time again so I've just decided to do this on my own and I hope he will follow suit!
I slip into the "okay I'm not going to eat anything" and then binge. I love the gym tho... The gym is my place to let lose.. I weight train again nd do lots of cardio but my diet fails me every time.
Do you have tips for staying on track with diet? How do u really keep it going for months on end and not forgetting what the end goal is because it is so easy to forget!0 -
This is a great app to keep up to date with how many calories your taking in. Once you start your goal think if you ever stop it will be a waste of trying to success so if you stop there will be no sign of even starting, once you start never stop or don't start at all. Good luck0

I don't know, my husband will finish any junk food in the house if I don't pay attention. Even stuff I may want, like I had some graham crackers for a pie crust and after a few days I thought "all right I'll get around to making that pie!" and they'd mysteriously disappeared. Even if we go out, same thing, I try to not eat my entire meal in one sitting and take half home, that other half will not be around long (especially if it is dessert). So sometimes it is easier to lose weight with a husband that loves junk??
Who does the grocery shopping and makes the meals? Who picks out the restaurant? There are ways around being a disparate couple when it comes to weight loss. Not buying a ton of junk, or cutting down on the stuff you like, making less of it, using a smaller plate for yourself, drinking lots of water instead of sugary drinks, going out less or as I mentioned, not eating the whole meal (and going out to places with healthier choices helps too, if you go out a lot) and taking some home. It comes down to you and your choices and like you said, keeping your eye on the goal instead of what your partner is doing.0 -
