New surge HR user here and can't get exercise to pull over

Hi
I've been reading posts this morning and still can't find my answer.
I just bought the Surge HR and used it this morning. My info is in the Fitbit app, but not giving me any credit in calories or exercise in MFP app. Whet do I need to do to make them talk to each other ?

    You need to link them through MFP. On a COMPUTER (not phone), go the "APP" section up top. Scroll down until you find the FitBit app and "get app". It will then link your MFP and FitBit profile.

    1. Connect your accounts at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/fitbit

    2. Enable negative calorie adjustments in your diary settings: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings

    3. In the MFP app, go to More > Steps and choose Fitbit.

    Does your iPhone have to have the Bluetooth feature on all of the time after syncing snd setting it up?

    I have the fitbit Charge HR; what I had to do was un-link the fitbit from mfp, uninstall the fitbit software from my computer & cell phone, then reinstall, then relink. That did the trick for me.
