4 months after baby...

Hello, all...
I have used MFP twice before to help me lose weight and both times it worked (35 and 65lbs respectively...the latter was post-baby #1). I had my second baby in February and I am finding the weight VERY difficult to lose! I am sticking to 1500-1700 calories a day plus regular exercise (back to running, elliptical-ing) and I lost 11 lbs initially. Now in week 5, I have plateaued at 184 lbs and cannot budge. It's very discouraging to step on the scale and not lose any weight after a week of being good. I stopped breastfeeding about a month ago.
Has anyone else gone through this with subsequent babies? Does the plateau end? Any tips on how to beat it?
TIA ☺

Plateauing can happen for any number of reasons. From eating to many calories, to not eating enough (causing your metabolism to slow down) to exercising to much. Perhaps do a google search on how to break through a weight loss plateau. I myself ( though not loosing post baby weight) plateaued, and it took some work and a lot of patience to over come my plateau. Just remember that even if you continue to exercise, and eat right you are doing good for yourself, don't let the number on the scale get you down. You can over come this.

I After my daughter was born in 2003, I lost quite a bit of weight and got down to 140 from about 170 by eating right and logging every bite, no alcohol consumption, and exercising 30 min to one hour 6 days a week. Since then I have gained weight and lost weight 3 notable times. I am on my fourth journey now. Unfortunately, with each weight loss, I have started at t larger number each time and it seems I also get to a certain point, either I get comfortable or discouraged and the ultimately weight comes back. This time I started at 225 and currently weigh 184. It took me 5 months to achieve my current weight. I have been at this weight for going on one month. So, I am back at that same point where weight loss stops. I get discouraged looking at the scale. My clothes fit better and I feel better but I am still not where I want to be. I try not over think the weight on the scale but I am still overweight at only 5’4”. I have committed myself to just keep pushing through. I used to eat 1220 calories and exercise at least 20-30 minutes 3-5 or more times a week. Now I have upped my calories to 1410 and do 45-60 min 4-6 or more times a week of cardio and then 20 minutes or so of lifting weights. I have recently built up muscle and endurance and I am able to actually run on the treadmill or outside without immediately feeling injured. I am taking advantage of this and jogging more. I use the elliptical for cardio when my knees or hips start to feel overused. I still lift weights and do workout videos that target my abs. My boyfriend is very supportive and keeps me motivated. I still log everything I eat and pay close attention to my sugar and carb consumption. I only drink water. I work out in the mornings and sometimes after work. I eat the right kind of carbs before I work out and proteins after I work out and I stop eating everyday no later than 8 pm. I try to do more HIIT intervals to shock my body. I try to take advantage of being active any little time I can fit in even while I am working. I will do jumping jacks in the bathroom, jog up and down the steps, never take the elevator, and do isometric holds at my desk. Since I am approaching a month of plateau, I am confident my efforts will start to show results. I have already lost 40 lbs and have 40 more to go to be at my goal of being in the 140s. If I don’t see the results I want, then I will just keep going. I am committed to an active and healthy lifestyle that I want to continue forever so I look at this plateau as a part of my journey. I will always face challenges the deeper I delve into my weight loss and healthy lifestyle journey. The main thing I tell myself is to keep going and don’t give up. Embrace the challenges and just keep going.

Nah I wouldn't blame it on babies (I have four) make sure you're weighing food, and make your exercise count, don't just go through the motions. Switch up your exercise so you don't get bored. How re you getting your calorie goal? Mfp! Tdee?
