21 Day Fix Nutrition Plan

Hey Everyone
I hope you’re all having a great week.
Just a few questions about the 21 day fix nutrition plan if anybody has tried it? Im not actually trying to lose weight, I just wanted to try and eat BETTER (ie more healthy fats, veggies etc). Im already a very healthy eater in that I eat exclusively “clean” foods (I don’t like to label my diet but it’s simpler to describe it that way!) but I eat the wrong amounts (higher carb and protein etc) and my serving sizes are pretty off.
Either way, I decided to give the 21 day fix nutrition plan (not the plan to lose weight, only to maintain) but have noticed it’s very low carbohydrate.
Has anyone had any issues with this? I have tried it and found my energy levels to be quite low, and due to the lower-carb end of things, I find it difficult to get through a workout. Anybody have any experience with this, does it take getting used to or something? I also live in Ireland and we don’t do servings by cups, so I may be underestimating the portion sizes. I have been measuring things that are measurable but things like canned tuna, a chicken breast etc is estimation for me. Has anyone any idea what the average calorie counts per container are?
Im just trying to see if I need to fine tune it for myself or something? A half cup serving of oats in the morning seems very low carb to get me through a workout – but yet, so many people seem to be able to do it. I am quite an active person but no more active than Autumn!
Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I also consider my diet to be very "clean", but when I tried the 21 Day Fix eating plan it just didn't work for me. I am pretty good already about portion control and balancing my macros so I just ditched the containers and logged with MFP religiously while following the workouts. I tend to do better with a bit more carbs normally anyways and I was only allowed two servings a day, which just wasn't enough. I was exhausted.0

What macro ratio worked for you, and how did you figure it out? I was trying 40/35/35 but too low carb!! Glad to know Im not the only one!0

45/30/25 is what works best for me, but the recommended range for calories from carbs is 45-65% so you can start at the higher end and work your way down to get to a place that's more comfortable for you (:0

Thanks
I'll try that. It just feels a bit better knowing Im not alone in this - I need my carbs!! Thank you

Hi, what calorie range are you in for the 21 day fix? Your range should be your weight x 13 for maintenance if you have a moderate exercise level. Or if you do intense exercises frequently your weight x 15. So with my weight as an example, that would be 7 green, 5 purple, 6 red, 5 yellow, 1 blue 1 orange, 7 tsp.
Here's a few of the foods I frequently eat and the calorie breakdown.
lean Chicken 4oz - 130 calories - 1 red
lean ground beef 4 oz - 170 calories - 1 red
roasted mixed veggies (1 cup) - 100 calories - 1 green
brown rice 2/3 cup - 180 calories - 1 yellow
fruit - grapes or apples about 1 cup - 80 calories 1 purple
I hope this helps!0 -
Hey! Thank you. Im in the 2000 calorie range for maintenance. This was actually calculated through trial and error - i lose weight under 2000/day. I must be a lot more active than I thought!
That is helpful actually, with the average calorie counts etc. I thought the yellows were 1/2 cup though??0
