My goals are 5lbs a month plus lose the extra 3 i took on for xmas.
-62 by Feb 1
-67 by Mar 1
-72 by Apr 1
-77 by May 1
- 82 by June 1
That will put me 7 lbs from goal.
Otherwise, I want to keep up the good work
- daily logging of food/exercise
- 500 cals burned 7x per week
-1300ish cals per day with one cheat meal per week
To reward myself, I've planned to put $10 in savings for clothes each time I lose 1lb. So, by Summer, I should have 250ish for clothes.0 -

I like the $$ idea!!0 -
Wow everyone has such great goals!
I guess mine include the following:
1) Quit smoking
2) Exercise more often and at a higher intensity (like to be at the gym 3 times a week and do other exercising at home or outside)
3) Further improve my eating habits while not completely denying myself
4) Lose weight at a safe steady pace while building muscle -- but this really is a consequence of 2 and 3
5) Complete a half marathon in Oct
6) be a size 10 --- my husband promised me a shopping spree once I am out of plus sizes. I am between a 12 and 14 right now. Technically a 12 would put me at the top end of the regular sizes but I would rather wait until I am a 10 so that I can be confident I won't slip back into a plus size if I gain a lb or 2.
7) Complete more renovations on our house
8) Pay down some bills0 -
Wow, I think I need to make a post about my 2009 goals. Maybe tomorrow...anyway, here's the short version:
Fitness Goals:
1. Increase my running mileage from about 15 miles/week to 25.
2. Run at least one 10k.
3. Try trail running.
Other Goals:
1. Find a church
2. Find a literary agent (not sure if this is realistic, but I'm giving it a shot...again)
3. Join and actually attend a book club and writer's group
4. Try something new when given the opportunity - I've joined a local adventure group that does things like rock climbing, white water rafting, etc. So far since I've joined, they haven't gone to do anything, but when they do, so long as I can afford it, I want to go. I don't want to chicken out.
Basically, this year is a year for me. It's the first year for me since I've realized who I am, if that makes sense. I mean, sure as a kid, every day was all about me. I've grown up a lot, done a lot of changing and a lot of self-discovery. I've been through a lot of heartache (and this year will continue that trend) and a lot of stress. This year is about finally being the woman God has always intended that I be.0 -
My goals for 2009 are:
1. Be more active
2. Reach my goal weight of 145lbs----Currently 157lbs (darn Christmas!!!)
3. Eat three meals a day---No skipping breakfast
Simple but hopefully achievable.
All the best for 2009 everyone xxx0 -
well hopefully last year was as good for everyone else. lost 60 and quit smoking so this year is time to reflect and see what else i need to accomplish.
1. need to lose 20 lbs of body fat. this should put me at 13~14% body fat range and i think i can do it in the first three months of '09
2. drink more water
3. log everything miles and meals
4. meet Marine Corp yearly minumums for men
3 pull ups
40 crunches in 2 minutes
3 miles in 33 minutes
hopefully the running will come together very soon. I can do 15 minutes of jogging but just not quite there for the whole 30 minutes.
5. i would also like to make the transition to outside jogging VS. treadmill
6. run a 5k for charity just because i can0 -
Great goals everyone! We should all print these and put them on our bathroom mirrors so that we can keep them in mind all year and mark them off as we accomplish them. Or Refrigerator. If we don't keep them in the forefront, they will be history by the end of January. Anyone else want to post their goals??? Are you game? Let's make 2009 the first time, we've set goals and worked on them to accomplish what we have set. Let's not make 2009 another year of forgotten goals. MFPers are tougher than that. We can set goals and accomplish them. That is why in the beginning I posted realistic, measurable goals. That way, we can achieve the goals and we know when we have hit the goal because it was measurable.
Good luck everyone!!!0 -

1. Lose that 5 I just gained.
2. Get my mind back on track.
3. Lose the last 15 by ..... (thinking out loud..) 4 pounds a month, by May 1st?

I want to buy clothes in the regular women's sizes not plus.
I want to go on a road bike trip with my brother before we are both too old to pedal. But I have to be able to pedal farther than 2 blocks without my chest exploding (or at least feeling like it is going to).
