how do you count veggies in with your total daily allowance? Are all veggies counted, including cucumbers and zucchini?
I'm a newbie here with 15 lbs to lose.
Thanks!

Yes i count everything. I weigh them with a food scale. then go into my diary and use the search function. Then i find the usda results for that veggie and log it accordingly.

I count everything. Some people don't count fruits and veggies, but if you're logging because you want an accurate total, it's best to log everything. IMO. Because what's the point of counting up some of the calories, KWIM?

Everyone does their own thing, though.

I have a friend who doesn't weigh at all and kind of guesses at portions and she's losing. To each, his own. :)

Veggies have calories, so they should be logged the same as all foods.

The only thing I don't count are zero calorie beverages, like water, plain tea, seltzer (and I always drink lots of water so I never worry about tracking water to see if I've had enough).

Most veggies are low calorie, but they do have some (and those can add up when you eat a let of them), and it's nice to look at my log and see all of those healthy choices I made that day.
