Hey guys,
Have any of you tried a diet without eating any meat? What was the result. I decided 3 days ago that while I am doing Ripped in 30 I am not eating meat at all(hoping to loose weight faster). This is the 3rd day and I am doing pretty well eating around 1500 cal and plus 300 after my workout. I am so excited about the end of my journey. I want to loose around 20 lbs for now. and see some result... and maybe another 10lbs afterward. I am working out since end of January, but somehow I don't see big changes, maybe because I wasn't eating healthy . I changed my eating habits around 2 month ago, but still no result ( did not loose any lbs or see that inches melt down around my body) I used to workout an hour -2hour a day and I changed that too for Ripped in 30 for now. I am hoping from this diet to make faster my metabolism and loose weight .What you guys think ? Any advice for me?

Thanks,
Dia

As long as your getting your protein and iron from somewhere it certainly wont do you any harm, after all, zero cholesterol cant be bad.
I dont think it will speed up your metabolism but if you can live without delicious chickens and turkeys and still get your vitamins and minerals then it will do you no harm.

I don't think not eating meat will change your metabolism. It's more a lifestyle/moral decision. I've been vegetarian for 14 years (although I still ate a little fish for the first few years). The key is getting the right nutrients. For example, I use nutritional yeast to get B12 as well as the different amino acids.

i am vegan as well. trust me, i get plenty of protein haha. i havent eaten meat or any animal product in 6 1/2 years. definitely take a supplement though. cutting out meat is a great thing and could help you lose weight, but just watch out for other things replacing them that are unhealthy. trust me, not every vegan is skinny and healthy. trust me, i wasnt.

I've been vegetarian since I was 12, and though I am struggling to get thin, I have never been overweight. I think it's a healthier way to live.

I am a vegetarian, and I too don't have a problem hitting any of the goals set out on this site. My recommendation if you are going to take out the meat is to make sure you consume some sort of protein at every meal/snack.

I haven't eaten meat in 12 years. I replace my meat with eggs, tofu or soy products. I eat veggie burger patties as well as veggie chicken and bacon, pretty much "veggie" everything. To me, it tastes the same as eating regular meat, since I haven't had real meat in so long.

My answer to your question, is absolutely you can lose weight without eating meat. I started the HCG diet on Saturday May 14 and have already lost 10.6 lbs!! Just make sure you are choosing meat replacements with low sugar, otherwise, you may be hindering your losses. Yves has veggie products that taste great and most have 1g or less of sugar!

agree, i have been vegetarian for 10 years and am almost vegan and have no issue hitting nutrition targets without supplements.
i recommend yoghurt, nutribiotics vegan rice protein powder, tofu, and soy or rice milk.

Same here. In fact, I'm getting MORE protein, iron, & calcium now that I'm a vegan than I was when I ate meat & cheese and all that.
