I have a question, so If you burn 1100 calories by exercising how much calories are you supposed to eat then?

If you truly burned 1100 cals, eat back approximately 550.
Be careful if you're using machines, the calorie burns reported can be overstated.0 -
Thanks bpetrosky, I have a Polar FT4 watch. So is that just 550 more then what Fitness Pal says or Only 550?-2

In theory you eat all of them back, the suggestion of eating 550 is to account for the fact that most things tend to overestimate how many calories you burn through exercise. How many you eat back is up to you, most people eat back 50-80% (obviously don't eat back over 100% lol).
Personally I use a Fitbit to measure calories and eat all of them back.0 -
That depends on how much you are eating.
Are you eating in a deficit? eating at maintenance? what are your goals?0 -

Hello @SezxyStef Well I had a problem where I was working out too much and not eating enough. Ay, I try to eat about 1500 calories And I burn from 500 to 800.0

Today I went to my third body combat class in a week . The calories burned show as approx. 600. I still only ate 1200 calories a day and feel fine and am not hungry. Should I still also try and eat back some calories??0

I only eat when i'm hungry. If that puts me in the 20% of my exercise calories or at 80% of my exercise calories, that's what happens that day. The best way to say it is if your goal is 1200 calories and you exercise 600 off then eat between 1200-1600 calories that day if you want to eat back some of your exercise calories. That's what I was going to ask.
So say mfp say you should eat 1500 and your exercise machine or non linked Fitbit/polar says you burned 1100.
Either enter the exercise in mfp as 1100 and eat half of it back, 1500+550=2050.
Or enter it as 550 and eat it all back.

Probably more like 900 if we assume exercise is over estimated. Still low though.

I have a Polar FT4 and honestly imo I didn't think it was that accurate.

I use my FitBit to measure activity, my digital scale to measure all my food and the most accurate entries I can find on MFP for both. I have never lost weight so consistently week to week, or so close to the amount predicted by using calories in - calories out. So (CI - CO)/3500=WL in pounds. Currently there is less than a 10% difference in what I expected to lose and have lost. Using this method, there are day to day fluctuations, but I have never plateaued.0
