After over 3 years on this site I finally feel like an 'after'! (Picture overload, tl:dr warning)

I was about to just post in the before/after thread, but thought... damn I deserve my own thread after this long
From 5'1 150lbs to hovering between 105-110 in the last year and a half.
I've gone from doing this:
Bumming around
Playing poker sitting on my *kitten* all day
Drinking alcohol making a fool out of myself
Eating ONLY brown foods... not even kidding
To doing this:
Still playing poker
Learned to cook and actually enjoy eating healthy foods while still enjoying treats
And most importantly, getting off the couch, and hitting the gym until I was ready to try new fun things I was too scared to try
My main goal when I started was to be able to wear skirts and shorts without my thighs eating each other and not having to cover up in the summer.
I really felt like it all built up to last night when I went to EDC with some friends. I have been hitting it hard in the gym lifting and doing cardio in the last month to prepare, and I bought an outfit online that I wasn't sure I'd feel comfortable in. All I can say is I had the time of my life, and did not feel self conscious all night. Realised I've actually achieved everything I wanted when I started all this. I'm so thankful to MFP and I could never have done it without it!

That's fantastic. In fact I learned something profound from your post, and would like you to confirm a few things for me, if you don't mind? I found your honesty to be refreshing and intriguing. I can honestly say that I was inspired by your progress; however, in your fitness expertise, would you say that in your journey you have been risin' up, back on the street? Did your time, took your chances? Went the distance, now your back on your feet?
Just a woman and her will to survive?
I can't help but think that so many times, it happens too fast. You trade your passion for glory! Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past, you must fight just to keep them alive....It's the eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge
Of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he's watching us all with the
Eyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
of the tiger
