Hi everyone,
So for the past year I have been recovering from Annorexia and while I am proud to say I have a much healthier relationship with food it is hard to be comfortable in my body as I have overshot my set point a lot. In the past year I've went from 120 lbs to 180 lbs. I am way over what s healthy weight should be. I have had my metabolism checked and the doctors say I should be eating 1400 calories a day (ED can slow and damage your metabolism) but I am just contasny my gaining weight.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I can't continue to gain weight so rapidly I feel uncomfortable in my body and no one seems to have any answers.

This is an issue that really needs to be discussed with your care team, because the normal guidelines may not apply to you, and you haven't been in recovery for very long. Please talk to your doctor/dietician.
Wishing you good health.0 -
I was working with a nutritionist for 7 months but just got a new team of professionals (nutritionist, doctor who specializes, and a therapist) they seem just as baffled as everyone else though.
Thank you for your response !0 -
Ooh I had basically the same issue but it's been a little longer about 4 years since my last relapse. Im up 60 pounds since then. You need to take it slow.0

I had the same issue when recovering. I went from 100 lbs to up to around 130-135 in about 5 months and my weight went up and down within that time as well. It was hard for me to lose weight because I wasn't fully recovered but now, about one year later, I am mostly recovered and around 120 lbs and trying to get fit and maintain health.
Also, my metabolism is basically normal again and I can eat around 1600-1800 a day and not gain! Yay! Good luck and hope this helps a bit.1 -
Thanks everyone that helps a lot! To know im not alone.0
