Sounds like a positively horrifying week, but hey, malnutrition for the win!

I juice! I love juicing and am also going to do a juice challenge. I am obese, so I have alot of weight to lose. I am going to be doing a 90 day juice fast, starting July 1st. We can start together and you can stop when ever you need too. I did the 90 days last summer and lost 26 Lbs. Juicing along won't help unless you exercise too. The weight only started coming off when I started adding 30 mins of walking to the juice fasting. Good luck to all who want to do a juice fast. Rather it's for a week, 30 days or the full 90, good luck, and God Bless.

So nothing but juice for 90 days? That sounds horrific.

So you lost about 2 pounds a week. Which you could have done eating actual food instead of only drinking juice. Seems legit. Sorry about all the lean mass you lost.

    otherwise. no.

because it would hurt my gainz.

as far as the its' not fun or it's not easy- and doing it anyway only makes sense if there is an end goal beyond "because it seems like something to do". training for a marathon or a power lifting comp isn't always fun- and it's certainly not easy. But the end goal is worth it- and has legitimate mark-able goals. Juicing- other than to give yourself the runs.. not so much.

The very notion of only jucing should not been seen as an oddity. Afterall we all started as jucicers before we got hooked on solids which ironically has been man made junk. So I nothing wrong in taking a journey back to the very start with natural foods except this time I do it with a purpose.

This purpose of which you ask are

1 The personal challenge - no differnet from the examples you gave.
2 Internal cleansing or abstanance from man made made food and animal based food.
3 Inner awakening. I want to relive what I felt when I first fasted. (The feel was like nothing I ever experienced. My sense were heightened to levels never before exeperienced) even if for only 3 days.

there are much better and more practical ways to test your limits...seeing how long you can go just juicing is pretty much stupid and a test of nothing really...

I honestly thought he was talking about, you know, Mommy Juice.

OP - just in case there is any question that my commenting means that I am interested, I want to go on the record with a resounding NO for your juice fast.

Occssionally I like to test my limits. Life has no limits so it's good to disprove the adage now and again. ;)

So I am thinking perhaps a juice fast during the summer. Lets face it this is about the best time of the year to do it.

1 did 3 days juice fast but gave up. I hasten to add only because of social pressure. I guess it will be easier if this was done in some sort of group.

My target is 7 days. Anyone ready to go along the ride say next month?

It's stupid, unplesant, unnecessary, maybe unhealthy and expensive. I can see the appeal. Good luck :)

This is the very reason why I want to do it. The unpleastness of it makes it pleasurable afterwards.

That said its no more stupid or unheathly than the what the average person on the street consumes.

As for it being expensive. Thats subjective don't you think. Then you whole post is subjective.

If you want to do something unpleasant, drop a sledge hammer onto your right foot.

It'll make the future of NOT having a sledgehammer dropped on your foot be much more pleasurable!

Why not go on a hike, meditate, or pet a cat? Embarking on a 3-7 day VLCD of juice doesn't seem like a sustainable approach to weight loss, or getting back in tune with yourself.

how do you figure we started as juicers? most of us started on milk from our mom's tit...it aint juice...it's fecking dietary fat mostly.

secondly, natural foods are great...but you can eat them and really, you're better off for the most part eating them. juicing was really meant to be a way to supplement and help you get your micros...it's not intended to be all you eat.

    thirdly...

Yes, this. I expect I COULD manage it, although it would interfere with my workout schedule/training goals, but why on earth?

You mean breast milk? (Or in my case formula, so I guess I've been hooked on man made stuff from the beginning, oh well.)

I don't think juice is actually analogous to breast milk or that breast milk is the ideal food for an adult.

But, hey, we all have our quirks.

Not really sure why all solid food is "man made" -- most of what I eat are plants and animal-related foods -- or why being man made in some sense makes something junk. I quite like lots of man made (and woman made) stuff, personally. Like computers are cool, and the US Constitution is pretty interesting.

By juice, do you mean the juices coming from my nicely cooked hamburgers and steaks? Cause I just ate a burger that was ridiculously yum.

    If not, I'm out.
