Low Carb / Low Sugar

I need help - I need some ideas for low carb food. Not necessarily no carb..... but lower than whan I'm eating. I am a carboholic and love bread!! I can easily get under my calorie and fat for the day, but if I dont' bust my carbs I'm really close to it. I eat fish of all sorts, cottage cheese, and such. But still, my numbers are too high. I eat a lot of fruit and I am amazed at how many carbs are in fruit. I know they are natural carbs....but they still are effecting my overall number at the end of the day.
also, I just recently added sugar to my watch list and I don't have a lot of room to wiggle. I need suggestions there too. Today I have not had any "sweets" other than my protien bar this morning, but its not even 3p and I'v already busted my sugar intake for the day.
any advise?? Thanks!

cut fruit. Just until you reach your goal weight. Cut bread, too. It's super carby. So is pasta.
if you need a fruity treat, go for berries. They tend to be lower carb than other fruit.
the body can't tell the difference between a bag of flour & a bag of sugar, fwiw0 -
Have you been achieving your goals so far? I ask this because if you are, then why are you so worried about sugar? Ideally, your sugar number should be lower, but fruit is something that is definitely helpful to your body's functioning.0

Low carb foods will mostly be veggies (other than beans) and meat. But all carbs are not your enemy. There are good carbs such as beans and whole grains.0

Cut fruit and carbs. Replace it with leafy green vegetables. Just as filling if not more and a fraction of the calories!!!0

Also, consider a change in fruits. Berries are typically lower in sugar/carbs than other kinds. I have turned ito a Blueberry fiend! (I stock up when they go on sale here, locally).0 -

Blackberries are my vice. I've stopped buying them. Too easy to eat the whole pack.0 -
I have not reached any goals yet.
So that's when I started to really watch my carbs. I can sometimes do pretty good, but most times I max my limit. But...I'm always under on my calories.
I've cut out bananas b/c I know they are the most calories and high carbs. I was eating an apple a day for other reasons that just being my fruit intake. Guess I need to stock up on more veggies.
Thanks all!!0 -
