Why only 2.5 months? And 50 pounds in 2.5 months is excessive and dangerous. It took me like 6 months and I was loosing 2 pounds a week the most that is recommended.

Your goal is unhealthy and completely unreasonable. Also, given the calorie deficit you will have to create in order to do it, unsustainable and highly unlikely.

Please, please, please, consider a more reasonable, healthy, and likely to be obtained goal of 1-2 lbs per week.

When I was 17 I lost about 30 pounds in 3 months in a healthful way. I went from being completely sedentary and eating junk to eating healthfully and exercising 1.5 hours daily. I started at 230. Weight comes off easier when you start at 230 than when you start at 183.

Long story short, I'm not going to take a testy tone with you, sweetheart, but you sure are setting yourself up for disappointment. These folks are right.

You've got 2.5 months, you're looking at more like 10-20 pounds loss. Just give yourself more time! :)

I also think two and a half months is too short to accomplish your goal, a healthy rate is 2 pounds per week so you need a lot longer. If yu're looking for friends feel free to add me though, I'm also twenty and looking to lose 25 pounds (current weight 175, goal weight 150)

This is a more reasonable estimation.

That was supposed to say 4 1/2. I turn 21 in October so i figured that would be a good goal date. 50Lbs in 2 1/2 months is very unresable. Sorry for the typo.

I had a feeling it might be a typo, but we get people all the time wanting advice on how to loose a crazy amount of weight in a crazy amount of time.

50 pounds in 4-5 months isn't so unreasonable, but i would think maybe 40 would be more reasonable. If you put in the hard work, you can easily loose 35-40 pounds in 5 months.

I agree with @jesusarolon but I was going to say 30-35. I always find it's easier to set a goal and reach it and then set a new one than to set one that is a reach and not reach it and get discouraged and eat Red Vines.

Il try the small goals first, but i plan on working out as much as possible (i have a elliptical and treadmill at home) and watching what i eat. So i hope for the full 50 but if i lose between 30-40lbs would be fine as long as i get close :)thank you for the advice

It is better to set small goals. You reach them faster and it gives to the motivation to continue.

I agree @jesusarolon, people always set their goals way to high at the beginning and feel like they aren't getting anywhere so they usually give up. Small goals is key and when you reach them it will give you that motivation to keep going :)
